Default Update on the ex....staying clean so far.

Hi,

Well my STB-X has been out a week.....I'm really proud of him. He got his driver's license reinstated, got a tag for his truck and got a job and he did all of these things WITHOUT my help! I'm still going through with the divorce. I am wondering if he has hit his rock bottom after all these years because he finally lost me and his kids. He cries everytime I see him or talk to him. He says he is getting everything he deserves. He seems humble now. You know I have decided that if losing my best friend and soul mate means he gets clean it will have all been worth it.
I told him that for right now all I can be is his friend, that the fear of being hurt again is just too great for me. In time, maybe we can re-connect again but for now, I'm happy just living my life for me instead of worrying about the addict. This is his life and he has to live it, good or bad.
thanks for listening
