Default Absconding felony probation by leaving town

My ex that I posted about recently who is on felony probation til 2014 recently picked up felony warrants for drugs: p/m/d w/intent cds IV (whatever that is!) with 3 charges at thousands each and he has a misdemeanor warrant for non support. His po contacted me recently wanting to know the last time I talked to him. I told him he contacted me for money but of course I told him no, but he'd given me no info as to his whereabouts.

Anyways, his po says his family informed him they cut him off because they were unaware of the warrant and he left town to another state. My question is if he did leave town what type of trouble is he looking at? All his po could tell me is he's a 15 yr man (po experience) and people like my ex will def end up getting picked up. How is that if they don't know where he went and what type of trouble is he looking at? Thanks. (Oh Im in Louisiana btw if that helps)

He'll get picked up because he's that kind of guy - always stepping over the line. You and I can go for years and years without negative police contact, but he can't. And the cops will always run a wants and warrants check, or, if it's serious enough fingerprints and all his crap will come up. Only a matter of time.

Mmmyeh, that about says it. He's also probably known to several of the officers in the area, by appearance and by vehicle.

So it's just a matter of him keeping his nose clean in whatever state he is now residing in? Which is highly unlikely...but if he's pulled over for something like a traffic stop or pulled over in a car with other people and they check him for warrants do the cops in the local area of whatever state only check for warrants in THEIR city/state or anywhere?

When LE runs someone, it's run through the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) which is a nationwide database of warrants, missing persons, etc.

I'm in Louisiana too. My boyfriend never went to his probation officer. 3 years later he is riding in the car with his friend. His friend gets pulled over. They run a check on my boyfriend too ..he is arrested. He is now doing 25 months out of a 5yr.sentence.

I would think that if the police really wanted to find someone they could. If that person ever got a job where he had to file income tax...get a drivers license, get Social Security, go to the hospital...ETC. there is ways that a person will come up on the computer..unless they hide VERY GOOD. Not a good way to have to live. Even family could turn him in.
