Default Military security clearance question

I am active duty and have been so for 10.5 years. I have a secret clearance that is up for renewal in Dec 2018. I got married 3 years ago and my husband has a felony. Will they deny my clearance renewal? Has anybody dealt with that before? His felony was over 10 years ago and he hasn't been in any trouble since then. His felony wasn't violent, and didnt involve weapons. It was not drugs or sex offender stuff. I hope they dont deny me of that. I have 9.5 yrs left and im an officer. I plan to retire.

My guess is that much will depend on whether this is information that should have been disclosed at the time of the event. My understanding is that it is the attempt to withhold information that causes the most problems in those reviews precisely because the withholding is what makes someone a risk to be compromised...

Im sure they will ask about him and i will disclose it. I won't lie to them about that. Just wanted to know if it would be an issue or if anyone has been in that situation.

No, especially if you're only renewing your SECRET clearance.

You want my advice? Go ask a knowledgeable attorney. I'm not saying that this is a bad place to ask, but would you go to Google to search for a cure to a brain cancer?

My husband has a top secret clearance. When we got married he had to file a security form with my basic info.. date and place of birth for me and both of my parents, dl, ss, etc. It is required whenever a life event takes place. Did you do anything like that?

The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. I hope you make it to retirement.Often, I have found , that they try to boot you after your last re-enlistment. Cover your ass, and get your buddys on your side.
