Default Any prayer warriors available?/Update

My dear friend is living with (we've decided battling is too exhausting right now) leukemia. She was diagnosed last Fall and a week ago she was sent to a specialist who said that if improvement isn't seen in six months the next and only remaining option is a bone marrow transplant. This is particularly scary for her because she has no siblings and so a donor would have to be found through a general pool. She's only 29 years old. It's breaking my heart to run out of comforting words and sometimes it seems the best thing to do is nothing-- just let her know it's ok to be tired and scared. She's starting to express feelings of being a burden on her circle of friends and not having the desire to do this anymore.

If you have time in your prayers, please include this beautiful young woman.

Thank you all. She's having a tough weekend and has had some heated arguments with folks I know she loves more than anything. I think she's struggling and pushing people away but I hope those same people are able to see the reason why and still be around for her. Such a tough one. I really appreciate your words.

First, thank you all for your kind words and actions.

She begins her new round of medication the end of this month. I guess there is some tapering off of the old before the new can begin. She went through a very 'angry' spell right after her appointment but I think she's feeling cautiously optimistic about the treatment. Her biggest concern is the side-effects. It's a laundry list of things from hair loss (already happening) to bleeding and chronic edema.

Thank you, again.

The new medication is working! I've since moved out of state but on a trip home last week I saw her and she was holding her "numbers"-- a diagram of her labs with a line that shows where she needs to be to avoid a marrow transplant. She's below the line!

She's still fighting. It's an incurable form of Leukemia but one that can be managed for a good number of years. She's actually looking to go back to work soon.

Thank you for your support, your prayers and your faith. WE appreciate it so much.

One year since my last update...

You guys!!! Her last labs showed less than 1% cellular activity. Less than 1%!! My heart is bursting I'm so happy for her. She will stay on the meds for a 5 year window once she hits remission level, so we're not in the clear. But this is amazing news. This has given her a huge boost of hope for her future.

Thank you all for your prayers and thank you God for hearing them.

This is great news, I'm happy to see your friend is doing much better. God always has a way of amazing me with his goodness and although she has to wait that time frame to reach remission just keep trusting that God healed her, because he did!! He is a great God!
