PCO will give you a phone number which is a local call for the inmate and he must dial that number - which will be forwarded to your phone. If/when you decide to go with PCO, just tell him you got a new number and ask him to call it from now on. No need to say more than that on the phone to him. Then you can put a few more details in a letter....Bury that info in the middle of your letter some place so that the person opening the mail who might be nosey, won't see it in the first paragraph of your letter...

Even if you have PCO, your guy can call you on your cell number....but why should he if you have PCO?

There's some other threads about PCO and how it works in this forum, so you might look into those.

Doc's Sis covered it pretty well. If you are going to discuss it with much detail --save it for a visit. And, depending on how full his phone list is, you may want to encourage him to have two numbers for you... the PCO number and your other number.

Also, I think I've suggested it before, but you can (and should) contact PCO for your questions. They can tell you how many customers they have, how many are in CA, and how many at the specific facility. AND they can give you tips on how to share the info with your loved one.
