My husband been reception in a prison for 11 months. I want him to get to the prison where hes going to complete his sentence. Is there anything I can do other than just wait? 😑

What is the reason? Is he in Ulster or Downstate Cadres? (assuming New in N.Y.)?

Understood. DOWNSTATE also has GP portion of the jai! Which is not reception. Is he in the cadre unit? Does he have programming? BecAuse to e in reception status for 11 months is very out of the ordinary, unless he is there for GP.

Has he been going back and forth for court? There must be some reason he's still there. Do you know his building? Complex? Because this is not normal. And before you write you should know the story.

He does have a open case and he has court for that case like every 2 months but they never even take him to court. And hes in complex 3.

Since its a pending case that may give him another sentence, they are most probably waiting for a disposition just in case it changes his classification. Comp 3 is also a holdover unit, most probably waiting for this case to end. Yes, its terribly frustrating to wait, for him and you, but an open case that not been disposed can do this. He can write to the senior counselor and ask some questions at least for your guys clarity. Im just guessing based on a few things. Good luck.

That would be the reason to keep him there if he is going back and forth to court every 2 months, because they will not move him to lets say Collins, if they know he has future court appearances near Downstate. Financially it would not make sense even though its frustrating.
