Just a little late today. But I heard from him. He said that they sent a memo extending their current lockdown situation for two more weeks.

Does anyone have an alternate number for Big Sandy? My husbands grandfather just passed and I can’t get them to answer the phone.

Big Sandy has its first Covid case. The BoP website says it’s a staff member.

Question New to Big Sandy

Hello! My LO was just moved to Big Sandy last week & I was hoping if you can please help with mail info? Are pictures allowed? Are they photocopied then given to the inmate? How is the mail processing time? Are greeting cards accepted? How about post card? Any information would be great! Thank you, just not sure if these rules are new to all prisons are if they were just for Victorville.

Oh, I get the feeling that this place is always on lockdown. Is this true? Wishful thinking but is the place up to date or in process of getting video visits (crossing my fingers)?

My husband just called and said now instead of waiting 30 minutes in between calls they have to now wait an hour and a half in between calls. He was also unaware of the covid case at that facility

White paper, blank ink, written on one side only. Pictures are okay but originals will be mailed back to you. They receive photocopies only. No cards or postcards. No video visits. Is your LO at the USP or the camp? These are the rules for the USP, not sure about the camp. Mail has been taking an extra couple of days both ways. About 4-7 days for me (Im in Los Angeles, so you may be closer). And yes, they are ALWAYS locked down.

Big Sandy has a second staff member who tested positive for Covid-19. If you would like to see the map, it’s interactive and located here:
