Parole Violation: DUI. What kind of time is he looking at?
Hello,
My boyfriend recently got out of prison in February and unfortunately violated his parole yesterday with drunk driving/drug charge.. He was in Men’s Central Jail Yesterday and currently shows he’s in Inmate Reception Center in LA county... does anyone know what type of charge and time he’s looking at? What does the next step look like?
any information known would be appreciated.
thank you..
He's got two issues: the DUI and the parole violation. A lot is going to depend on the underlying charge (the reason he's on parole), the extent of his record, and how hungry the system is for him. Worst case scenario is that the gets stacked time - his DUI (you don't say whether this is a first charge or a 5th DUI or whatever) plus the remaining time on his underlying sentence.
Right now, you need to wait and see whether they are going forward with a revocation, a criminal prosecution on the DUI, or a criminal prosecution AND the revocation.

Hello thank you for responding,
He was sentenced for assault with a deadly weapon last year felony charge and served one year. He came out Feb this year and is on parole for 13 months.. This is his first DUI.
