Most of the prisons here California have a Welcome House/Friends on the Outside on the prison grounds. Most have a van that picks up visitors to and from the greyhound station and from some motels that are in the local area. I know you have to make arrangements for a ride a couple weeks in advance. Also, you can post a notice there looking for someone to car pool with.

Which prison are you going to? I have the phone numbers for all the Welcome houses, but it's too large to post all of them here. I can post the ones that you need.

there's usually buses that go to the prisons from greyhound stations. I don't think there is a charge for them. I know there's one at Donovan and there's one at Centinela.

You are welcome I do know they take off points for being married. I don't know if they do for having children. You can post in " California" and I am sure someone will know.

THE LOVE BUS, INC.
COMES FROM LOS ANGELES & ONTARIO.
909-988-6901

They are just about the lowest prices that I've seen around, and the service is great. I use them regulary.

Question Just wondering?

Hello nlovewithjc, this might be a dumb question but does the love bus come out to the bay area to pick up women deperate to see their men? I don't own a car and not made of money. At least not anymore with the money I spend on my baby now. Just curious, I'm not giving up on getting down there, if only for one day. thanks, AndreaMarie...

I think the Love Bus just serves the LA area, but give them a call to find out for sure.

I ended up riding and driving with two girls my age when Trey was in prison. If you can meet people while at the prison, that might work, too. Watch out for those people though. One of the girls ended up bringing drugs to her boyfriend. She called me one night and said that the prison called her and said that they suspected she brought in drugs, and she was to be at the prison for questioning at 10 am the next day and if she wasn't there, she would be arrested. She said that she'd call me if SHE didn't get sent to prison, and I never heard from her again. Since we drove together, they also closely watched Trey and I, and strip searched him after every visit for awhile.

Hi Deon. Try calling FAMILY KNOTS EXPRESS @ (888) 7-4-KNOTS. They provide transportation to all California State & Federal Prisons. The fee depends on which prison you are visiting. I will be visiting my fiance on June 8 in Susanville and I paid $120 (which is ok b/c of the distance). I hope this helps. Bye.
