Some prisons shutting down?

My daughter called today, and said there was a rumor going around that there may be some prison closings, ...possibly hers, in Bryan, Tx...We told her we had seen or heard nothing about this, but would post here and see if anyone else has heard anything about this...The only info I saw was possible closings back in 2005. I have heard they are closing Fort Dix.. dont know if that is true?

Yes, Fort Dix will be closing in the next couple of years from what I heard.

I heard that they might want to pull almost everyone out of FCI Big Spring and make it like a prison just for child molesters.I don't know if any of that is true though.About a month and half ago they transferred out about 200 guys so far and their might be plans for more.

At one point, the BOP made plans to make four regional prisons for convicted sex offenders, with sex offender treatment. But I've never heard the definite plans of which facilities will convert to this or a time line. Until that happens, rumors are just what they are - rumors. Zelda
