I am afraid to go this route for fear of it making life hard on the inmate I was writing, but I'm wondering if it would be OK to call the prison where she's at to ask if she's alright or even alive? She's mabel basset
I know how the prison system works, so the last thing she needs is to be given a hard time because the officials are annoyed over being given a hard time over her. She hasn't written back in over a year, so I'm thinking she's either dead or not allowed her letters. I can't think of anyone inside who wouldn't welcome the chance to give and receive letters. Her ex is also in law enforcement and there is the possibility that he's convinced the guards not to allow her letters or has possibly managed to have her threatened.
If she's on Oklahoma's inmate look-up, she isn't dead. They can't legally withhold mail permanently. Even if something was up, they could slow her mail down, but not withhold it forever.
Is it possible that she simply doesn't want to write you anymore?
