I can not find any fact about a rumor about the reduction of sentences to non-violent offenders as of January 1st. Where can I write to or is there anyone out there who has the facts?

Try calling you state representative or senator's office. You will find that they are most helpful in most cases, and in reality want and need imput from the public. Whether they vote in our interests is another thing. But, I would start there. Happy New Year.

It hasn't happened yet. They are considering it. The 2004 Legislative Session starts back this week on Tuesday. Check The State newspaper's website daily - www.thestate.com. Also check out these websites for current or pending legislation.
