My bf is in SNMCF in Las Cruces but he hasn't called in awhile. He had got in some trouble and said he might have to do some time in the hole. I was just wondering how do I find out if he is? PLEASE HELP
Contact Front Desk Officer at (575) 523-3200 for all visitation questions and/or to schedule a visit.
I'm not positive how it works in NM, but in some states, you can still visit in person if they're in the hole. If you call, tell them you want to visit and wanted to make sure he was available for visitation - if he's in the hole, they'll tell you whether you can visit or not or if you have to schedule a visitation. Even if you don't actually plan on visiting in person, they should be able to tell you what's up with him.
Yup all you have to do is call the front desk and they will tell you then if he's in the hole or not. Chances are if he hasn't called in sometime then he is. They won't tell you the reason why he is in the hole but you'll at lease no something.

I was very worried bc my husband hadn't called in a few days. I called the prison and they told me that they are under a statewide lock-down and they do not know how long it will last. They can't make any phone calls or have any visits until the lock-down is over

Haven't heard from mine since the 27th. I was so spoiled hearing from hims twice a day. I hear they do an annual shakedown that can last up to 30 days around this time. Last year it was only for a week. If any of you hear from your loved one, please update us with a post and I'll do the same. Mind is PNM Level II.

Since prisons usually won't say if someone is in the hole, finding your answer through a workaround is sometimes possible. Ask the prison counselor or Chaplain to conduct a "welfare check" since you haven't heard from him in weeks.
If that doesn't work, check the prison's visiting rules to see if SHU prisoners have a separate visitation day or special hours on a regular visiting day. If so, ask if you can visit, and when you can visit. That can end up confirming his SHU status.
You can also write him a snail mail letter asking him for an explanation.
