I bought shaved top round about 2-3 lbs in a large frying pan I oiled, I put steak, 2 onions sliced up, seasoned with salt pepper, garlic and worstershire sauce cooked till fully browned then put in a crock pot for about 2 hours on high then added steak sauce to taste, put on french bread with pepper jack cheese. Delish!!!

I made a huge tray of barbecue chicken yesterday I hadn't had it in a long time was great. I bought stuff to make burritos, so I have left over steak, chicken so I'm using that for the meat I have seasoned black beans and rice lots of cheese, and giant flour tortillas, picante sauce and guacomole!!! So I'm gonna be putting a buch of stuff together and freezing them!!! I'm starving now so I need to get working on this so I can eat!!!

Made a pork loin yesterday. Hub wanted to put it on the grill (rotissere) but it got too late. So we stuck it in the oven with some taters. Made a salad.
then I got a hair cut. lol.
Came home and poof dinner ready. I never usually leave the house with the oven on, but since we were still in town and it was a short trip, it was ok.

Bonus?
I dont have to cook tonight.

I made chicken carbonaro yesterday turned out good. I am looking for a recipe for Hungarian Goulash Not the american kind. My niece wants it for my sister who is sick and seems to want it. All I remember about it was stew beef, whole pepper corns, paprika, but she always served it over egg noodles, My mother claimed it was my Fathers great aunts recipe. All I know is I hated it because it had meat and no veggies!!! LOL I'm thinking my mother changed it to stuff my Dad would eat because most recipes I've found have sour cream in the sauce, and my Dad wouldn't eat anything with sour cream. This also could be a Jewish recipe (as my Mothers family was 1/2 & 1/2) so I really am at a loss on where to search. But we are trying to fatten my sister up so she can survive the Chemo, she's very tiny about 100lbs and 5'3". So if anyone has any old family recipes that sound like this please post!!!!

Ive had it and it always had the sour cream on it. And potatoes, carrots.

Ok found this one.....(skip the pic if you dont want to see them) Sounds easy enough. Interesting about the bell peppers

https://www.daringgourmet.com/tradit...oulash-gulyas/

And the paprika is important to use the real hungarian kind. Apparently they are that different. (I recall the home eck teacher telling us this)

Just noticed how small she is. Yes, she is gonna need to pack on some pounds.
Hell she can have 30 of mine!!!
(but then I'd be skinny! lol but I could eat my way back)
Not sure what she likes to eat but heavy calorie laden would prolly help.
Milkshakes, ice cream every meal.

I know not healthy but she is gonna need some weight. I understand chemo can make you not hungry. Or maybe its just sick to your stomach. (poor thing......dang)

I know I'd give her all my fat if possible!!! My niece and I were talking about her weight and what if anything we could do to help. She's a type B pos blood type and all of us siblings are A pos, so none of us could even donate blood if needed. Never really thought of this until my Mom was sick and needed blood, none of us could donate for her. I have a 7am dr appointment and am going to raise hell as my drs office has cancelled my appointment 2 times and I'm on painmgmt and can't take any overthecounter stuff because of my stomach problems. Stomach dr was like flipping out about my cat scan results and the meds my regular dr has been prescribing!!! I am locked into a contract with regular doctor because of pain meds, but Gastro sent a 4 page letter detailing the damage the meds he has prescribed has caused. Including my diabetes meds, now causing kidney failure with the in pain meds. I'm so mad about this crap, makes me sick to know I'm stuck with a frigging idiot for a doctor.

Im so lucky I dont need pain medications. UG. I hate them.
ok, well I do take naproxen almost everyday. But usually only one time.
achy joints ya know.
I hate the ones that make you sleepy. I dont do well with those things.
I'll take em if I have to, but I avoid it if at all possible.

I wish I could take Naproxen, took it once years ago and it caused my stomach to bleed! I'm one of those overly sensitive stomach wise to nsaids I can't take any. Believe me I'd rather not be at any drs mercy!!! Well I made lasangna, salad, garlic bread, cheese cake, and cut up a water melon to bring to a friends for dinner tonight. LOL I've been on a binge cooking marathon!!! I am feeling so much better, not so depressed about my health. I talked to my sister yesterday and she sounded so good and so brave. I have been writing her letters and cards telling her all the stuff I never normally do and she was so happy about the letters, so I am going to keep doing that. I have also been writing my aunt who is like 87yrs old. I enjoy writing letters to them and I love getting mail. I still write my Mother in law at least once a month, she laughs at me say's I robably spend more in postage then I do on phone bills!!!LOL

Yeah about the stomach. I worry sometimes about that.
ive been in a cooking slump again. Tho night before last, I took out stew meat. I still had some leftover brisket but not enough to feed everyone.
So.....Made stew, and added the left over brisket and its *gravy* to the stew.
Came out yummy! and meaty.
Just heated it up for last night and bought a loaf of french bread. Made a salad.
poof. Done.

Tonight will be chicken again. lol. Think I'll just keep calling it that ChickenAgain.
I also bought some sweet potatoes so maybe I'll just bake.

At least I have a clean oven. It was so cold the other morning, I decided to run the oven cleaning thing on the stove. Came out so much better. We had a spill over several months ago.....so....it was time.

I've got friends who just call that evening meal "Chicken Different". It's chicken again, but maybe they'll put green olives in it, or make it tikka masala, or do a sweet and sour, or a curry, or tacos, or ......

I'm getting the "big" crockpot out of the box...it's been in there for 3 years and it's finally going to get some use.

With the weather this past Saturday, all the restaurants on my way to work were closed. I ended up paying over $8 for chicken tenders, fries, and a drink

Since I'm off, it's pinning time for some recipes.

Made meatloaf yesterday. lol. I usually like to put ketchup and brown sugar mixed on top. However, yesterday..........I couldnt find the brown sugar and was too lazy to pull everything out of the cupboard to find it. I THOUGHT I found it, but pulled out what turned out to be........brown sugar. Meaning its the kind that isnt processed, it looks sorta crystally? Like brown chunky white sugar? (is that raw sugar?)
I said, oh well.......I'll use that.

Son and hub said it was one of the better meat loafs they have eaten.
Im not telling them what I did. he he he.......

Well tomorrow I am having another Endoscopy so I am going to stuff my face with all the stuff I love!!! I am buying, lobster, shrimp, steak and clams!!! I pretty much know my Doctor is going to freak out on me as I don't usually stick to a decent diet and I've been having bad issues again so I eat what doesn't kill my stomach which is usually plain carbs not much meat and very few veggies. But I figure this is my last good day of screwing up!!! Oh yeah and BEER!!!

Hope it goes well xo.

I made a tamale pie thing the other day. man that was a lot of work. I messed up in that I only had a jar of jalapenos, not green chilies.
I might make it again next month when it starts to get cooler and have the right ingredients.

Last night was a steak and taters night with brussel sprouts.
Not sure what im making tonight.

Last night was homemade chicken stock, most of which is still awaiting it final fate. Some in the house like it with rice, some with wontons, some as a cream soup, so it gets done into batches of each. Along with that a home-made free-form apple pie, because it's harvest time around here!
