My man is in fci cumberland and i've been trying to find someone, anyone with relative, friend or lover in fci. They're pretty good people so hopefully you shouldn't have a problem.

I had access to email (a messaging only system) when I was in the Danbury camp. I also took a computer class. It was on Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. There is no internet access.

Question Need info. about Cumberland federal prison, low security facility

Hello,
Does anyone have any loved ones or been incarcerated at the Cumberland Maryland Federal Prison Facilty. (low security) I was sentenced to 2- 3 years there. Its my first time going to jail. I cant get it off my mind. Anybody know what to expect and what its like. How things work there, what the sleeping arraingments are like, rec time, weight lifting, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. (email removed per PTO policy. Please pm member for this info.)

Exclamation Cumberland Camp RDAP info please!!!

I am trying to find out everything I can about the RDAP at Cumberland Camp. Does anyone know when the next class starts? How often they start? If there is a waiting list? How much time are they giving off?

Kind of time sensitive, but if you have or know someone there PLEASE ask and let me know. Thanks!

i didn't know the camp had an RDAP. I know someone who is at the medium for it. There is a process to get into it also. You meet with your tean, you get interviewed, have a psych eval and a couple other things. Like I said this is for the medium so the camp may be different.

Do you know how long your friend had to wait to get in? How often they start new classes? What the average amount of time off guys are getting now?

If you go to the bop . gov website and look for RDAP facilities, you can find an updated list, and it shows that both the camp and medium have an RDAP, but I am guessing the waiting list and start dates for classes will be very different since there are so many more people in the medium.

I went through the RDAP program in the federal prison camp in Cumberland and can probably provide some insight into questions related to it. To answer the basic questions, classes start every 3 months, and yes there is a waiting list. The list is based on how much time you have left on your sentence. You have to have somewhere around or above 24 months to get into the program (minimum amount of time). You have to have about 31 months or less left on your sentence to be able to get into the next program (on the max eligibility side of the number) when in Cumberland's camp program. So must be above a total of 24 months, yet less than 31 to really get into the next starting program. If you're still at 60 months, you have to be on the waiting list and won't be on the list until you really get under 31-32 months or so. Also, the amount of time you get off all depends on how long your sentence was, and when you got into the program. At Cumberland camp you could get up to a year off. They deny 99% of people at the camp for the Second Chance Act, so don't back on that adding any sort of extra time off. Basically, you'll get a max of 12 months off if you have that much time to get back from the program. I'm not including 6 months halfway house time which you'll want to add on top of whatever you get off from the program. So in essence you could get off 18 months (12 from RDAP, 6 from halfway house). The RDAP management in Cumberland camp changed in 2009, which did affect the program itself and how it is now run.
