me and my man have had the go ahead to be married in OSP youngstown, i have had contact with the issuers of the marriage licences, the biggest issue we are struggeling with is it says i need to get a lawyer who is willing to go to the court house in mahoning county and be deputized so he can go to prison and secure my mans signiiture etc, ive tried afew and keep getting rejected and told they dont deal with that issue, has anyone been married in same county and can you name any lawyers that would do this for us we have until december to sort it virus pending, we appreciate any help.
I've never heard of needing an attorney to take a form into prison for signing by the inmate. Before you fill in your info, send the form to him so he can fill out his part and get it notarized. There should be a notary there at the prison. You can fill out your info when he sends it back.
Yes you need a lawyer for sure if you are from overseas. A few prisons need a lawyer and if someone need help, just le tme know. I have a lawyer who will help in that.
nightshade41's loved one is an Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Corrections facility...an attorney is not necessary for an inmate to get something notarized.
I've also never heard that an attorney has to go to the Courthouse and be deputized before s/he can go into a prison
Probate Court issues marriage licenses in Ohio. That phone number in Mahoning County, Ohio, is (330) 740-2310; appoints are necessary due to covid; the cost is $43 and its good for 60 days. The bride and groom do not have to be residents of Ohio.
