I am hoping that someoone can steer me toward where to find help. My LO is (insulin dependent) a Type1 diabetic. He ie very prone to seizures. Things had been going well seeming to be on an even keel until the last few weeks. I dont know if the heat because theyre on lockdown is part of whats causing problems or what but now his bs has been all over the place and he has been haviing seizures. A nurse, who obviously did not choose the right career, is ignoring what the doctor indicates, wrote him up said he is causing problems, being an attention seeker!!! (Im getting really angry now I want that c*** fired, but I am not going to rant about this moron now....) My question is, about requests he made to be housed in one of the dorms because there people can see if he going into low sugar seizure, as oppposed to being behind a solid door so the guards ignore, "dont see it" when it happens and instead of bringing him out quickly he stays like that for 4 or 5 hours, which causes damage to the brain and takes a heavy toll on his body. Some damage can even be irrevocable, that is if he survives beacause it can be deadly. Is there an advocate I could reach out to who could help him, take the proper steps to be moved to dorm housing at the very least!?

My bff has diabetes. Kidney failure. Needs a transplant and all that jazz. He is currently housed in a dorm at a "prison hospital" this is in CA. It looked like you are in Texas, the first I saw was in Galveston. I Would imagine there are more. Do whatever research you can They may be in Prison our LOs are still humans and they have rights, not many, but some. I hope this helps a little
