When my husband went to Classification they gave him his 85% date. Originally it was 9/1/2010 because the clerk's office had messed up the date of his arrest so he wasn't credited for 30 days. After I got that fixed I figured his 85% date to be 8/2/2010 and when I contacted his classification officer while he was at NWFL Reception he confirmed that. So as long as he gets his gain time he'll be home then. Of course he'll earn gaintime he won't actually get to use because he has to do 85% of his time.

Okay, I don't really know why I'm asking this because I already know my boyfriend's release date is set for Jan. 19, 2011. But He got sentenced on August 8. But I don't know how long he's been in and out of jail. His primary offense date was 1/1/09-4/23/09 so I don't really know how long or when he got arrested and did time in jail before he got out on bond. I know I met him on June 22. So I don't know how long he spent in jail. Does anyone know how long it will be until he can get his sentenced reduced? and what all can he do while he's serving his sentence??

Default Help me calculate release date? pretty please?

I once saw a thread like this but I didn't mark it, sorry. My boyfriend got his sentence last month and he was just put on the DOC website with a release date of 4/18/2012. His sentence is 36 months. He went in on 4/22/2009. If he's entirely good and gets all his gain time..how would I calculate that? I've been multiplying by .85 and come out with November 2011, is that right?

Thanks sooo much!

85% should mean he'll loose about six months of the sentence. But there is a thread open here showing how to calculate. It's very confusing. And after the last few weeks I'm going by his TRD and hoping he'll be home closer to the 85%.

Okay, my boyfriend's gaintime is confusing. His set release date is for 01/19/2011. But he only got 31 days of jail time credit. His offense date was between 1/1/09-4/23/09 so I don't know how he was getting away without being arrested til they finally caught him LOL But I made this countdown ticker for my myspace page and he's got 484 days left. He was sentenced to 18 months. But he told me was gonna try to appeal it??? Ugh..... He went in on August 20,2009. But his initial receipt date for D.O.C was 9-8-09.

HIS SENTENCED DATE WAS 8-6-09. I GUESS THAT WOULD HELP OUT ALOT TO DETERMINE HIS GAIN TIME LOL.

How do you actually calculate it?? Because I kept doing .85 x 18 mos and it keeps saying 15.3. Is that his actual gain time he gets?? 15 days off his sentence? or 153 days he has to serve?? Ugh.. this is confusing.

He should get out in August 2010 if he gets all his gaintime. He should serve 335 days from the day he went in,remember he has to earn the gaintime then not lose any of it.

August 2010?? That doesn't seem to far away. I really hope he earns his gaintime and not lose any of it. This sucks not being able to see him. He's still at the reception and medical center in Lake Butler or are you replying to someone's else's question??

Each month he earns gaintime you will see an earlier date, usually around the middle of the month. Oct 30th is the latest he would get out if he had to serve whole sentence so it should be August if he gets all his gaintime.

I believe they can start getting gaintime 6 months after the DR. I know how upset you must be.

Default gain time

Right now my fiance's date is at 6-2-2010, I have calculated that with the 10 days of gain time he gets a month he will be at 4-13-2010 in March, where it is confusing me is that does not include April or March. Does anyone know if they prorate anymore, he mentioned something to me about how they use to call it pro-rating but now it is something else. Also can someone tell me if my calculations are right for 4-13-2010?

My husband was sentenced to 10 years, minus 3 years for house arrest. 7 years. He's been in since July 17 2009. Taking off 85% would give him what? I am so confused on this. I think it is 84 months minus the 3 months that he's done already = 81 months. Is it 4 years left or 5 1/2? Confused and need help PLEASE...I hate numbers...Please PM me if you can figure it out. Thank you.

My brother called and ask me to find out about the "new law" something about only doing 65% of time, due to gain time.(it used to be 85%) Also something to do with Florida needing more prisons, that they can not afford. I can't find anything on the internet. I have been looking for hours. Can ANYONE help me?? Please.. and yes you've probably seen this email on a couple of place of this web site.. Not sure where to go..so I tried them all maybe I can get an answer soon..Thanks to everyone!!!
