Unhappy Filing a motion

Does anyone know how to prepare a motion? Or point me in the direction. To be considered for the 1st Step Act they need a motion mailed in.

Check out the federal defender site: fd.org There are a number of areas addressed by the First Step Act and few require a court motion. Check FAMM.org for First Step info.

You'll need to find out which First Step issue is being pursued to start to begin to learn about preparing a motion.

Without a lawyer, you have to find out the criminal or civil rules for filing a motion about your specific issue. Filing on anything else can be considered as practicing law without a license. Start out by contacting the federal clerk of the court in your judicial district.

There is much information available from a google search for "rules for federal pro se motion".
