Default How many of you are from UK & waiting for your guys in USA?

Hi I was wondering how many people are in the UK and waitng for their guys in the USA?
I am from the UK and my baby is in Arizona. We have a while to go yet for his first parole but I will wait forever if need be!
Also how many of you get a chance to go the USA to visit their babes?
Just thought it would be nice to see how many of you are from the UK?
Take care
Kaysha

Hi Kaysha;
As you can see I'm from the U.K.
My love is in a Californian USP and we have to wait 4 years for his parole hearing...But patiently wait I will!
I also have two pen-pals in AZ and PBSP.

Hi Kaysha,
I live in UK and my fiance is in PA.
We have until 2015 before first parole, but we did nearly 6 years as friends and 2 as a couple.
I go and visit him as often as I can between college, work, child and when money is available.

I just came back last Tuesday and I am going again on 28th February.

We talk twice a day and that helps a great deal.

We are just about to buy our first house together in PA and I am going to spend more time over there, decoratiing, fixing it up etc so it is ready when we come up for parole.

Hey I'm in England too!!!! I have many pen pals in US prisons but my fiance just got released from a Florida prison and I was there for his release two weeks ago. I've been writing inmates in America for over 5 years now and have been over to America 3 times now.

Hi Kaysha
I am from the UK but you know all about me. His release date is July 2009 and I have just found out that he does not have to be on parole until 2011, its now 2010 so we are another year closer to being able to live together and hopefully for him to be able to come and live here.

I'm from the UK and no idea when we'll be together as we're still waiting for his exoneration. I visit twice a year and he's in Illinois.

Hi I'm from the UK, I met my fiancee by becoming a pen-pal first but knew very quickly what a change he would make in my life. It hasn't been easy but we're still staying strong. He will be released in 2014 and we hope to marry then. I also have many lovely Native American pen-friends who teach me much. Thanks to them all

Hi everyone
It is nice to know there are a few of us from the UK! When I first came on here I was beginning to think I was the only one, so pleased I am not!
I still have a while until my babe comes home but I am looking forward to when he does!
Take care
Kaysha

My son from NH got a Christmas card from someone from the UK. He wants to write back and thank them. I had to call about the postage for him to be sure they would get it. He thinks that is so cool! Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I'm in Yorkshire, and my man is in Allred Unit in Texas. We started off as pen pals just over 2 years ago. I was so not looking for a relationship but like they say you don't always choose who you fall for!! So anyway he's been saying for a while that when he's released (first parole is set for May '09) that he wants to leave Texas, and even leave the States. And asked me if i would let him come here when he's out. Hell yeah i would lol .. but all depends on if he could get a visa etc, I am looking into it though!! Strange thing is i wrote to him coz i thought there's little chance of him knocking on my door when he's out. Now 2 years on i would give anything for him to knock on my door!

Hi, loopyangel, and welcome. I'm just down the road from you, well almost!!

I hate to be the wet blanket but it's going to be very, very difficult for your man to come here when he's out, especially as it seems as if he'd be on parole. We all have the same problem and it gets harder every time the immigration laws change.

Thanks for the welcome.

To be honest i haven't looked too much into it really. I'm a legal secretary and i spoke to my boss at work - (after he stopped laughing and calling me a silly moo!) he said that it wouldn't be easy. But i like a challenge lol

All i can do is hope that we can get him here, if its meant to be it will happen i guess. I got a letter from him today and he said to leave it until he's out then we can look into it properly. Theres no way i could move to him so if he can't come here ... well cross that bridge if and when we get to it.

I wish you well loopyangel. i go to court this week to appeal my fiances denial of visa to come to UK to marry me; we've been fighting this for a year now; his initial visa was denied due to having a record and we now have our last chance at appeal in court even though we know the likelihood is a no. If you want to know more about it, I've gone through it all first hand, with a UK immigration lawyer and so feel free to pm me anytime. The general rule is they don't allow ex felons from outside of Europe into UK if their sentence was more than what would have been a two year sentence in a UK prison so you therefore have to show to a judge that your circumstances warrant a visa when the law states they can refuse it on those grounds alone. Like you I can't move to him and it is a heartbreaking situation; we've been together 4 years nearly and likely can't be together......I wish you well.

Good luck with the appeal to court, let me know what happens. Deep down i know the likelihood of him being to live here permantly is pretty slim - but there is a chance and i will fight it if i have to. My boss has told me that when the time comes he will help me fight it i need him to. Although he doesn't specialise in that kind of law but he says with us being in the legal 'business' maybe he could get some contacts. I'll have my fingers (and toes) crossed for you! I'd give anything to move to the US but my kids Dad would never allow me to leave Yorkshire let alone England! Life can be pretty cruel. But please let me know how you get on.

Where there is a will there is a way Loopyangel good luck in your future with your Texas man. Maybe when your kids are older you could come to a compromise with the father hopefully? Actually he cannot stop you and the kids moving away (unless there is a court order or something) although morally it may be wrong to some.
Life is full of challenges but that is one of it's joys I think
