Default i got a responce....i think

yea....i got back a cookie cutter responce, just like all the other political folks give out. Do i can that it was cookie cut???? not really. They gotta watch there back (there political back). Unless it's local government, that's the kind of responce your gonna get.....however, i still think they log these things in like "check for the inmate release plan"

The link is...

Cut and paste the below letter....good luck to us!

The idea to release inmates has been considered several times through our tough budget. Some have suggested that you release low level, non-violent offenders. Since this population of offenders may not sit comfortably with some, I say that inmates who are participaing in work, educational and treatment programs should be released. They are demonstrating activity that reflects low rates of recidivism. Also, inmates that have family/religious support should also be released. Both these populations will have reduced support on social services, which is already limited.

I support the release of Positive Active Inmates, and Inmates with Family /Religious Support. I can assume that inmate’s counselors and other staff can point out those that meet these requirements.

Thank you

OK ladies i just checked my email and just got one from the Governor of CA, here is what it states:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me about the early release of non-violent offenders from California state prisons. I appreciate hearing suggestions from my fellow Californians on how we can improve our state.

California's future success depends on public leaders who welcome the contributions of the people. Adding your voice to this active and dynamic partnership is vital to the growth of our great state.

I also applaud your willingness to become involved in the issues facing California and encourage you to also contact the State Legislature with your suggestions and ideas. Contact information for your elected representatives, as well as information on Assembly and Senate legislation, can be found at the Official California Legislative Information website: www.leginfo.ca.gov.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write. I value the input of people who care about the future of California.

Sincerely,

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Its just a 3 ring circus still; hasn't the state and counties been given amble time to correct these problems? They haven't taken any action before, even when the Governor declared a State of Emergency on the issue. I hope they don't win their appeal, because it just seems like another stalling tactic.
Thank you Crissy for the article I guess my husband's frustration with the everyday phone calls of , " have they decided what to do yet", is boiling over here

What is our State thinking exactl? I really want to know. Do they really think they are doing nothing wrong? I'm start to think that to be a politician you have to be classified as stupid!

We thought the same thing in 1997 and we DID get the hell out. Moved clear across the country and we are so glad we did.

In every letter my son writes from prison he tells me to tell anyone I care about left in CA to GTFO - because CA is going down fast.

If they don't let him parole to us, he doesn't think he will take parole - because there is no way he wants to stay in CA.

Madhatter, we agree, moved in 2002 to be able to afford to retire. Two days ago my daughters counseler called us about her being released here, would we be willing to provide financial support for her and are we willing to take her in. Yes is the answer and she is about 7 months from the gate so California is processing her, which is great, hope it works easy, however alot can happen between now and then.

I went and saw my husband today and we have decided that once he gets released we are going to see what we can do to GTFO here. He does not stand a chance being on parole in California.

I hate to tell you this, Mad, but he doesn't have a choice about parole. Even if someone serves out their ENTIRE sentence (and takes no good time credits) they are still required by state law to be on parole for 3 plus years. They also will not allow anyone to leave the state with fines or restitution still owing.

California is a determinate sentencing state where felons sentenced to prison are also sentenced to parole upon release. A guy who does two years of his four year sentence is released to parole supervision. Another felon, with the same sentence, can become a disciplinary problem and do all four years behind prison walls ("maxing out"). He is also released to parole supervision.
