Can someone tell me about the camp in Florence. How is it- where do you fly into? My husband is being transferred there from Indiana and it is far for me to go. I need some help and answers- Thanks

I don't know about the camp, so I can't answer that question. But, if you're flying to Colorado, you'll either go to Pueblo or Colorado Springs. Pueblo is a smaller airport about 30 - 45 minutes away. Colorado Springs is just over an hour away. For me, coming from Minnesota, the tickets to Colorado Springs were 1/2 as much as those to Pueble.

I thought that Pueblo was farther away according to mapquest. Colorado Springs is only 39 miles away - tickets are still expensive- do you then rent a car?? Thanks

Pueblo is 35 miles from the prison and Colorado Springs is 45 miles. Not much of a difference. I've only gone once and I did rent a car. Good thing I did, too! I was turned away for visits twice because of my clothes! I keep checking the ticket prices, so I know when to buy - I went in the spring and got the tickets for $200 round trip! It took me about 4 months of waiting before the prices dropped. Do you know when you plan on going?

Les, are you speaking about the Federal Prison Camp in Florence? If so, your question will probably be answered quicker by posting in the "Federal Prison Forum".

Les, I visit USP in Florence. As far as my clothes, the first day the neckline of my shirt was too low (no cleavage showing, but it didn't reach my collar bone) and the second day I was wearing a two piece sweater set - you can't wear layers and the first layer was sleeveless.

I am moving this thread to the federal prison forum and leaving a re-direct link in the original place, so if you have clicked on this link after this point, you are not in the federal prison forum. Check out the link at the top of the thread that says: Federal Prison Forum and click on it. You will then find a list of all the threads in this forum.
The best thing you can do though is click on "Search" and enter the information that you are looking for.

I think that the warden's name is Robert Hood.

I got it off of a website that he is being sued about banning a magazine from the prisoners.
