Luckily I love to cook, but even if I didn't the way i was raised the woman do the cooking and the cleaning, I'm not a big breakfast person, dinners are my specialty, i love cooking pasta my opinion- it's sad when young woman don't know very much about cooking, It's simple and easy, get some cook books you would be suprised at what you can make, the 5 ingredients or less is a good cook book to start out with. My man has never complained about my cooking in fact loves it that i cook and clean, he has told me over and over the last few girls he was with he couldn't stand that they didn't know how to cook. I rarely eat fast food b/c you are spending more money on unhealthy foods rather than homecooked meals. there are tons of cookbooks and websites to look at to find good meals under 30 minutes, where i live it takes that long just to get in the car, get the kids in the car, fight over which place to go to and then wait in line, get your food and most of the time it's wrong and by the time you get done you could have had a good healthy meal cooked. And I do work two full time jobs and still find to cook every night! Even for myself! Find some cookbooks, check out allrecipes.com, taste of home cook books are awesome!

I couldnt see myself anywere else other than spending time with my daughter or us in the kitchen cookng something up or baking delicious desserts. I love cooking from scratch. I cook the old fashion way yeah it does take alot more time..But it is alot more wholesome in my oppion cause it is cooked from love. And like I told my babycakes I am from the south and one thing I want to do is always cook good meals..Cause u know people always gather were thier is food good food good conversation...I do occasionally like take out but not to much..Though I do love some Bojangles Biscuts and Bo Rounds..hahahaha...

I cook all meals at home 28 out of 30 days of the month, and make a pot of soup once or twice a week. The cooking I do is meant to generate leftovers for tomorrow's din-din.

Cooking is easy, and the food you make at home so much cheaper and less salty. I would cook most meals at home even if I were rich.

I cook everyday except on Mondays that's the day my boys get to be with their dad and it's something that we do as a fam still is to go out and eat out.y kids love it because they don't eat junk food or drink soda etc... so when dad comes they think it's something special to even go to Mc D's or to get something of that nature. I started while my boys were young giving them fruits and veggies and it has surely paid off for me have an 5,3 and 1 year old who would chose an apple over chips! My son at school ws given pizza at school for three days in a row and when he got home he asked can he bring his own food to school cause all they give is junk food lol.
I guess what am saying yes it is good to cook at home but it is also what you're cooking and if you have kids you know what I mean. with all the wieght issues going on with our lil kids. A helpful hint that works with me is when going to the store have the kid chose what fruits grapes, cherrys, apple they would like if they choose it, they are more likly to eat it! Cooking if fun when it's it's healthy, quick and tastes good...

This is an oldie of a thread.. But, since it got bumped with a poll submission, I might as well chime in..

We have a GREAT 'rule' around my house... My girlfriend loves to cook... Yep, I'm LUCKY and i know it.. The two kids have their assigned days, as well as my GF.. I have one day I have to cook as well.. And they LOVE it.. Because, I have the option to take everyone out to eat.. And I usually exercise that option! They say I "cook" the best steaks.. Translation = everyone LOVES Texas Roadhouse.

We eat in probably 90% of the time and I cook probably 90% of the meals. My wife isn't a bad cook, I'm just much better than she does. Cooking is a man's job, anyway. Kitchen work is, in general. I really don't even want her cleaning in the kitchen or doing the dishes.

Wish my hub did more cooking/cleaning!
His idea of doing the dishes is......put it in the sink to soak. lol.

I do most of the cooking most of the time.
Some days I like it, others not so much.

I love to cook, but tend to go to my mom's to eat. It just isn't much fun to cook for just me. Mr B likes to eat out. I've told him that he has to get over that. I'm cooking and that's that.

Are you my husband in disguise???

He's always been THE COOK. Besides being 1000x better at it than I am, he actually likes it! The same with the clean up. Not sure what I did to deserve this!

While he's gone, "cooking" consists of throwing something in the microwave or cooking pasta, dumping canned sauce over it and calling it spaghetti . . .

I'd luvvvvvvvvvvvv to go out to eat/order in every single night! But that would cost $$

Countin' the days til my cook comes home!

He's pretty good if I pitch a fit and say......you guys get to clean up. (not soak, overnight.....lol)
He is better at the bbq than I am.
He makes fun of me when I tell him the meat needs to rest. He thinks that is baloney.
(truly it does need to rest so the juices stay IN the meat! lol)

Think I'll use that after Ive cooked and eaten. I need to rest now. You can do dishes.

our dishwasher is broken. No hurry to get a new one yet. Maybe I'll tell them .......yeah the manual dishwasher is broke too.

I don't cook often, but we don't eat out either. We eat a lot of sandwiches, or vegetable plates, fruit, and sometimes microwaveable stuff.

I cook every day, sometimes every other day. Been trying to eat right, so I have been staying away from fast food.

Cook every day. I have a special diet which is very difficult with fast food or restaurant dining. It is best to cook at home to control the ingredients.
