I can't answer whether the news would cover about a lack of water or not (though, probably not)...but you'd need to contact them and let them know about the situation. I wouldn't hurt to have others contact the same news outlet too.

I called the news tip line for the Houston NBC affiliate. The man I spoke with said he would look into it. We shall see.

A friend of mine called up there yesterday and they confirmed that why were on lockdown but said the water was back on. I'm not sure whether to believe that or not.

Got a letter today from my LO, he said there was major disturbances in all the buildings because of the water situation, that they were locked down with no water or air and that they brought in a large amount of armed employees. He said it was a very interesting day, he wrote this on Thursday night. I'm not sure what the administration thought was going to happen when they lock the guys down with no water or air

No email or phone call, so I'm assuming that they are, I just wished I knew that all was ok with them. I'm hoping to get another letter tomorrow letting me know what's going on, hopefully it's more reassuring then they last.

I guess I am on edge because we had a family emergency other than that I am used to it. I have been going thru this for 7 years now.

They are still on lockdown but as of Saturday, according to whoever answers the phone, they have water. Don't know how true that is.

I just spoke to my daughter-in-law. She says that as of the phone call she just got from my son, they are now only on modified lockdown for today and tomorrow. Their regular schedule should resume on Wednesday. If they had it before, they now have access to email and phone, at least some of the time! Woohoo!

My son's last letter said that they were turning on the water in each area for some part of the day (no idea how brief) while they're continuing to work on it. I wouldn't be surprised if the cold snap caused some broken pipes, but I have no idea if this is so. My son said that at the beginning, they were being given 2 bottles of drinking water with every meal (no idea how many ounces) but were only being given one bathroom break to use the porta-potties per 24 hours, which made drinking the water problematic.

This lock down situation is difficult for those inside, but in the long run, it may be keeping them safer. At this point, since they're working on the plumbing issue, I don't think that bringing in the media would help much. That tempers may flare due to the conditions and that workmen are present to fix the plumbing are no doubt legitimate reasons for the lock down.

My fiancé had told me last week things were tense and he was expecting them to lock down soon.
Visitation was canceled first "until further notice" because a guy died with a belly full of drugs after a visit
he had said he thought they probably wouldn't let them up for awhile. And that visits may not resume for the whole month.
Crazy thing they were locked down last year on Valentine's Day too!
Hoping all your guys are well and praying for their safety and patience.
