Does anyone know of anything in the max in beaumont. I havent talked to my husband since the morning of the 1st. He always calls or emails or something and I have got nothing. Also I was wondering if something bad did happen to my husband they have to inform me about it, right?

Do not worry!!! You can always call the prison, if you do not have the number go to FBOP.gov/facilities/uspBeaumont that sight has all the contact info, but please don't worry that is not good for you, have faith in God and pray. If your husband put you down as an contact in case of emergency they would call you.

they are on lockdown for a reason. if the factions don't quit fighting with each other, they can't let everyone mingle with each other.

the hard part is those who are not a part of the problem are punished with the wrong doers.

letters asking the guys to get over the grudges might help some.

i wish you all visits soon!!!

First thanks for the lockdown information everyone, I was getting regular letters and e-mails, but havent gotten any e-mails in three days. My inmate at Fci MED sent me a letter explaining the lockdown from the prison right away (not sure how he got the letter) but it was because some blacks and mexicans got into it and were told to wait for the leaders to meet and come up with a solution, and that the people involved did not wait and that pretty much started the riot. Luckily my inmate was not involved (he's white) becausee of the politics the groups that arent involved stay out of the mix luckily. I got another letter a few weeks later saying that they tried to lift the lock down and because the two groups were still giving looks to one another and tension was still strong that they put them back on lockdown fairly quickly. I have gotten e-mails and phone calls since then but now nothing I was curious if their 15 min slots of time to shower, e-mail, and for phone use is not given on the weekend? Hopefully I hear something back soon. Once again thanks to all who posted information on here!

I was wondering if you might know if the medium is on lockdown again, if so why, and when did it start? I was wondering if the incident between the Blacks and the Mexicans has been settled, and if there back to normal operations. Thanks

Default Beaumont Med on lockdown again...

I called the prison because I hadnt heard from my man in 2 days, he always calls and emails everyday so I was worried. They currenty are not being allowed to visit/call/email and she doesnt know when it will be up. So if anyone has a loved one here and hasnt heard from them, dont worry.

yeppers CPL33 has gone to pot. i finally took it off my bookmarks.

best way to find out if a unit is on lockdown is to call them. i know it's a pain but it's more of a pain not knowing in my opinion. they usually won't be able to tell you how LONG they're on lockdown but at least it's a start.

at USP Beaumont, they have no telephone or email during lockdowns. i would guess that is also true for other facilities but don't know that for sure.

good luck!

Default Weather issues?

I was also concerned about the weather in that region. I know that Hurricane Isaac didn't directly affect Beaumont but I was wondering if the USP was bracing for it by putting everybody on lockdown? Just a thought but I appreciate all and info that you ladies hear!!

Default beaumont USP lockdown

i got through a few minutes ago. the officer said "you can call back on tuesday to see what we're gonna' do." giggle

so for those of you who traveled to beaumont, i feel for you. it's happened to me too..... that long drive to be told i had to turn around and go back without a visit.

hopefully both the laws and the outlaws will come to some kind of agreement so that the REST of us won't be standing out in the cold in the middle of summer!!

have you ever wondered why the women's prisons are never on lockdown? little boys with big toys are a pain in the you know what....

take care

Default USP Beaumont

Thanks for the update. Insha'allah they will be off of this lockdown tomorrow. My husband sent me an email on Wednesday saying they were going on lockdown and I haven't heard from him since He was scheduled to be transferred to a HWH on Tuesday afternoon, but due to the bad weather in Louisiana, his transfer has been delayed AND now he's not only still stuck at Beaumont, but now he's on this extended lockdown too. Subhaanullah, we can't get him out of there quick enough for me.

Talking Beaumont USP still on lockdown Thursday Sept 6th

i got a panicked email from a lady worried about the lockdown. this is what i told her.....

I talked to an officer after i spent 20 minutes this morning letting it ring. i was told they expect the lockdown to continue through this weekend.

Yes. inmates can get mail. i'm writing every day trying to alleviate some of my own anxiety and his.

this is the longest the USP has been locked down since i've been visiting. as near as i can tell, there were a lot of fights and racial stuff as well as personal grudges being fought in cells and on the yards..... so ain't no telling how long this will go on.

are they okay? define okay. if they get along with their cellies, that's a plus. if they have store supplies, that makes their lockdown just a tiny bit easier. as far as i know, they're not allowed to go to store, email or phone calls while on lockdown.

this lockdown is as much for some of the men's protection as much as a punishment for the violence and broken rules going on in there. it's not a great experience but it beats being out in the yard when the "s" hits the fan between factions.

all we can do, is write and wait. by now we all probably have that down.

hope you are doing well. i'm just now untensing. i've been packed since tuesday of this week.... for a visit i can now NOT make. i'm just glad i didn't drive all that way to be told no visits.

take care and try to chill-ax (as my 26 year is fond of saying)

This is by far the longest lockdown in recent years. Hopefully everyone learns to get along and follow rules or this wont be the last
