Default When will they complete home inspection for parole in Kentucky? He's HOME!!

My boyfriend was recently recommended for parole. He received his papers on Monday & returned his home placement papers on Tuesday. Does anyone know about how long it will take for a parole officer to come & complete the home inspection? TIA!

Hi Pikesj21,
Congrats on him being recommended for parole. I don't have any experience but I believe one of our admins (Patcholi) does and probably will be along shortly to talk about it.

Is he in prison, or did he do his time in a county facility. It makes a difference. If he's in prison, he'll be released the first day of the 2nd month after being granted parole. So, May 1st

There really isn't a timeline for the home placement inspection. Its going to depend on the PO's caseload. With his release date so soon, the PO will have to step it up some, won't he I'd venture a guess that it'll be at least a couple of weeks, but there is no way to tell for sure, could be longer. Don't worry about dust bunnies or dirty dishes, just make sure there are no weapons, drugs or alcohol in the home.

Congratulations on his Homecoming!!!

If you'd like to count down the days...there is a count down forum HERE.

I'm trying to remember correctly as I got the answer a couple of years ago, but I believe I was told that once the home plan is submitted to the parole office, they have 10 days? Give or take? To make the visit to approve or deny. They may get more leeway now since most go up 60 days prior to their eligibility date rather than on the eligibility date.

Congrats!!

If the guideline was 10 days, they're not sticking with it anymore. It was a little over 5 weeks before they showed up at my door this last time.

Maybe they aren't following it because everything is beyond backed up. Heck on of the county facilities is at 187% capacity. Outrageous.

That said, it is about 10+/- days from the time the home info is given to the parole officer, not from the time parole is granted.

Thanks everyone for the congrats!! I've been waiting for this day for almost 3 years!!! Patch, what is the difference between prison and county jails for the release date? He's always been in class d jails as his charges are all class d felonies & his sentence is under 10 years.. He says his papers say his release date is May 1st.

Whooo Hoooo....May 1st is what I originally came up with And that's not too far off at all!!

When I made parole from county, I was released in just a few days after the file review, as soon as the Gold Seal came in from Frankfort. So, I thought that's how it works for all releases from county on parole. Guess not

Update--
I came home last Thursday after a long day of running a errands to find that little green slip on my door that his parole officer had been here. I called the next morning & he was out for the day. I called back this morning & he went over everything over the phone. Asked what our relationship was, if there was drugs, alcohol or weapons in the home. Asked where I worked at, the best number to get ahold of me at and APPROVED my home over the phone!! All of this nervousness over NOTHING.. May 1st, I am waiting for you impatiently.. 😊

YEA!! Now that you've got the home placement approval behind you, should be smooth sailing from here until May 1st. Don't let the short-timers get to you (jitters) and try to concentrate on YOU = haircut, perhaps a color/highlights, pedicure etc. Whooo Hoooo!!!
