It all depends on the county jail. For the most part I havent heard many problems with it, but I dont hear of many county jail marriages compared to prison marriages

I married saturday! We had to have a proxy wedding. The ceremony was held at our Church and his father stood in for him.

Proxy is when both parties aren't present. Someone else stands in for the missing party. You have a ceremony and everything is legal, it's just that both the bride and the groom aren't there together. That is the easiest way that I can explain it for you. Many of the prison weddings are by proxy and then there are many where you are together. It all depends on the state and the facility. Hope this has helped.

butterfly, have you called and checked the status on the petition? Give his attorney a call and see if there has been a decision. GOOD LUCK!!!

I'm gettin married next month. My man's in county in Ky and the only thing we have to do is get the marriage lisence from the court house which they'll send over to get his info, tell the administrater the date ahead of time and show up with the preacher. They take us back into the judges chambers and after words allow us spend a little time where I'll actually be able to see him without glass inbetween us! Hope this helps!
