I need help. My fiance was just transfered to Central Arizona Detention Center in Florence. I have looked through the PTO forums and can't find anything on this place. Also no luck on the web other than a phone number... anyone have any info on visitation, phone calls, mail etc allowed???

Thanks!

Unhappy

I'm from birmingham, al. and I was sentenced to 21 months in a prison close to home. I have to self surrender Jan. 17 2008. Do anyone know which federal prison is close to home for me and what it's like. Any info will be gladly appreciated. Thanks

You can google United States Federal Prison it will give you a up date.
You do not always get what you request close to home, They will send you where ever they want to.
There is only 2 Fed in Alabama-- Talledagga (spell?)
And Montgomery

Thank you for your help. They will send you where ever they want even if the judge requested it?

Default FPC Atlanta please give me whatever you know

I have driven around it, I have read about it. This FPC, due to limited resources, learning, job programs and work is unlike regular FPC's with their non-fenced atmosphere (major barbed wire at this one). My husband and I just found out he is to self-surrender to FPC Atlanta (its a satellite FPC). He leaves early October.

I need SCOOP. ANY AND ALL scoop, please. How to be best prepared. What jobs to say he has expertise in so he doesn't have to work in something he will hate day in and day out.

How is a Satellite FPC different from a regular one, other then it being on the same grounds as a major federal prison?

He will be in for 12 mos. We have 3 young children who are extremely attached. What exactly will visiting be like? Can they go to an outdoor area? Like can my 2 year old bring a ball so they can play catch? Is there a family/children's area like at other FPC's.... Its been a rough few months since he was sentenced.

Maybe a lot of people lie about this, but I am not. My husband decided to "help" the FBI (they called stating, we know you're a nice church going guy, we know you'll help us) with information and ended up being bullied and cornered and lied to and ended up copping a plea for something he didn't do because of the fear they instilled about going to trial. Meanwhile, the US attorney told our attorney they had nothing on him (of course) but its not illegal for them to lie and they do not have to disclose information they might or might not have. Its all been a nightmare. I bet this has happened to many many others. I am sorry for them or you too.

SO THANKFUL for anyone's and everyones reply.

I'm new and not sure how this works. I SS in 3 days to Waseca, MN and I'm scared. First time in "system". I have been "looking" on PTO for the last couple weeks, trying to find answers to my questions. My crime would have allowed me to go to a camp but my attorney assumed I would rather go closer to home and so he requested Waseca without asking me. The judge voiced concerns at my sentencing with regards to sending me to Waseca rather than a camp but Waseca it is! Anyways, I have not found much detail info on Waseca here. Commissary list, what to expect my first few days, can I take cash with me, will they take my presciption glasses because they are transistional lenses (they darken in the sun), etc. Can anybody help me? Thanks.
