I realize your post is older--but do you remember what zip code can be used on Google Voice to get a local number? They don't have any Tiptonville #'s...but I didn't know if I could use anywhere close by?

My brother is in NWCX. He has been stabbed by a gang member in November and he's in close custody, now in hospital. Can anyone give me info about it? It's six hours from our family. I don't know how or why they chose that prison. He's a nonviolent felon (non gang too).

Dyersburg, TN area code is closest as NWCX is just a few miles down the road a holler (lol) and the original street address is (and I mailed plenty of letters/cards and he received every single one is: 960 Negro Graveyard Road, Tiptonville, TN 38079-4037.

My 23 yr old son has been there 1 year now for aggravated robbery. This is the worst and one of the most dangerous prisons. I'm worried daily and my life has become very sad, due to this. Our family has NEVER had anything like this happen. He got 16 years for 1st offense! He has never been arrested before and really hasn't been on his own. He was 19 when everything happened. DA in Nashville, Pam Anderson, ran all over his lawyer and he got the maximum sentence. His sentence ends in 2027

The food sucks a$$, especially on the main compound. Medical care there is alright, they are okay about passing out medication. However, this is by the far worst of the Tennessee prisons that I know of and the most violent in my opinion.

Welcome to PTO, Mishslagan. I'm sorry you need us, but glad you found us.

Because you're new to the forums, you might not be aware that in the upper left corner of every post is the date and approximate time that the post was posted. Just giving you a heads up as some of the older threads have old information in them that may have changed.

It's definitely hard on us when our Loved Ones (LO's) are in a dangerous situation. It's stressful, we hate it and, speaking for myself at least, I absolutely detested the fact that there was nothing I could do to try to keep my LO safe except not make things worse.

We're here for you. You might want to poke around the rest of the forums here - there's a lot of support to be had in many of our other forums.

I did notice the date, but since I'm new to posting I had no idea what to do. I hope I find more NWCX families in here.

No worries. You didn't do anything wrong. I just wanted to make sure you knew that some of the information might be out of date.

If you want to start your own thread, at the top left of each forum (not thread, forum) is a button that says "New Thread". You can post a new thread in that forum using that button. Your posts are fine in this thread, so please don't repost them. I'm just trying to help you learn to navigate the site - I know it's a LOT of stuff to take in all at once, especially when you're under stress.

I'm glad you're here.
