Default Gay Pen Pal Relationship - Documentary

Hello, and thanks for reading.

I am looking to speak to gay men living in the UK, who have gay male pen pals inside the UK prison system, or in an American prison.

Our production company is creating a documentary that looks to explore the relationship between a gay inmate and their pen pal on the outside - we believe that this is an important story that needs to be told, and we want to do this sensitively!

Please get in touch if this interests you, I would love to hear your stories and talk more about it. Either drop me a line via Prisontalk, or at the email below.

We are a company that prides ourselves in making serious and sophisticated documentaries, and we are gay led and managed, so coming from a good place!

Many thanks,

Advisory for PTO Members Regarding Requests from Journalists & Members of the Media, and Students/Researchers:

PTO welcomes journalists and/or members of the media to learn and educate themselves about prisons, prisoners, and their loved ones, as well as students and researchers doing research on these subjects.

We will, occasionally, allow the media or students/researchers to request information and personal stories from our members. However, PTO does not endorse any journalist, member of the media, story/report, media outlet, student/researcher, or educational/research institution.

If you decide to communicate with a media representative or a researcher, then you assume all of the risks involved. PTO is in no way liable for the outcome of the story/report/paper. Communication with members of the media and students/researchers is completely voluntarily and PTO holds no responsibility for the consequences of that communication.

PTO does not screen or authenticate any person(s) claiming to be from the media or from an educational/research institution, nor does PTO authenticate their motivations for obtaining the information.

As always, the disclosure of personal information (either yours or someone that is incarcerated) may have some serious repercussions. PTO has no way of predicting how the media or any researcher will present your story or that of your loved one. Any relationship with the media or any researchers is to be entered into at your own risk.

If you receive an unsolicited email or private message from a person claiming to be from the media or researching information for an educational or research institution, report it to the PTO Administration immediately.

Hello, my story is in the introductions thread concerning me and my friend Kevin. We have been corresponding for almost 7 months so far, through countless letters and phone calls. I initially began this correspondence seeking to reach out to the young man and give him some hope, but also to do what I could to help him turn his life around. Over time, Kevin and I have become incredibly close and at this point, we would consider ourselves to be life partners. I want more than anything to be with Kevin when he is released and help put his life back on track. I'm so nuts about the guy, I plan to propose to him upon release and now that gay marriage is a reality, I want to take the plunge. Kevin would be the third boyfriend I've had in my life, and frankly, he would be the last. The previous two relationships were incredibly one-sided and completely unfulfilling to me and my hope is that my search is over. In a very real way, I feel god brought me to Kevin and so far, I would have to say with no reservation at all, that he treats me better than my two previous boyfriends ever did, and those lasted for years before I finally found the strength to end the relationships. There is no certainty that any of this will become a reality, but I believe in second chances and I believe in miracles, and to me, Kevin is the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I've never been so in love with anyone. I would love to participate in your documentary if my story interests you, so feel free to contact me at your leisure.

Just remember the journalist / documentary will likely want to interview Kevin and if he is still in custody at the time of the interview....it could create some issues for him.
Great story and I wish you two the best!
