Default My wife was just arrested for a extraditable warrant out of pa. Help!

We got stopped by a flathead sheriff and they arrested my wife on a warrant out of Pennsylvania. The charge was assult on a officer I think it was a mistermeaner but may have been a felony (can't remember) it was back in 2013. She has a clean prior record not even a parking ticket. She went to court in pa and was sentence to 1 year ard probation and some heavy fines. We decided to move to Montana and just left without paying the fines or doing the probation, community service, etc. Shes 36, we been married 13 years and we been living in Montana for 5 years with our 3 young daughters.... Cop told me there's no bond and it's a extraditable warrant. They need to talk with the courts tomorrow in pa to see if there going to extradite her. She's never been to jail n I'm hurting bad for her. Will they really extradite her over money n probation all the way across the country??? Also is there anything I should do or contact to get ahead of this? Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated...

I had my run ins with the law when I was young and did a few years in state pen. I been good now for over 10 years with no drama with the law. I wish I could trade spots with her....

i would call a lawyer. And yes they can extradite her. I think they have 30 days to come and get her but I'm not sure if that's the same with every state. I'm sure a lawyer can tell you that. I hope you figure that out.

I would say Montana because that's where she had the Warrant. But if you call a lawyer in PA they will let you know for sure.

"We got stopped by a flathead sheriff and they arrested my wife on a "warrant out of Pennsylvania."

The warrant was issued by PA; MT took her in as a "curtesy" for PA so a PA lawyer is required.

I will keep hoping that things will have an OK ending. I was going to say "happy ending", but I fear just the fact she was taken in erases that!

Sorry, I can only 1/2 imagine how upsetting this all is and I keep thinking of the girls.

Good luck....I hope her journey through the injustice system is short-lived. It would be a help if the fines could be paid before she has court in PA. Won't help with the absconding & community service, but it can't hurt either.

She's out n home. Thank u Jesus!! PA changed the warrant to PA only. Non extraditable. Now they can't arrest her unless she goes back to PA. After living in Montana for 5 years who would want to!! Thanks all

Be aware that Pennsylvania can change their determination at any time. Walking away from probation is the ultimate F-U to the courts. Do not be surprised when this resurfaces...
