I don't understand a lot of it myself. So I could be completely wrong but wanted to at least answer you.
the new law/bill is for the people who have yet been to court or at least are still just working on there plea. I understand that part from our lawyer as my son is waiting in county to go to Pine Bluff. This new bill will not help him at all. But I am not sure about the people who are already in prison. I am not sure if there is another part of the bill that will help them any.

Just like you. I don't understand and totolly agree with you. The system we have does missed up. My son is 21 and is going to be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life just because he was looking at underage girls on his computer. didn't hurt anyone, rape or touch.

im sorry to hear about ur son! that doesnt make sense. they try to say just because someone looks into something that they will act on it. I would love to be as physic as this law officials so that i could take up another job telling people how their lives will turn out! grr. the system is a mess and in need of a complete overhaul..i honestly wonder how many of our "upstanding" law makers have broken their own laws and just havent been caught?

The new act actually does not take effect until August 2011. The people already sentenced under the old laws are not eligible for having there cases retried or being resentenced under the new guidlines, but they will be able to recieve the benefits of reduced parole and the new points system for getting off parole early.
