Until he goes to committee he will know if he's approved or not. Have you received a call from a PO agent from Sacramento asking questions about the home and who lives there? You can call 916-464-2724 to ask the status on the application. If they don't answer leave a message they are pretty good on calling you back. When I called they still had not received my husband application and as I was on the phone with them. They sent an email to the prison and within a week or two I received the call asking all the general questions. Hope this helps.

I've spoken to his counselor about the program but he didn't seem to know anything about ACP. By the time his counselor sees him, my LO will have 23 months left on his sentence. Any info would be appreciated.
Hi my husband is trying to apply for that now he's ALSO too. How & where can he apply your info is greatly appreciated.

Just wondering how that process went and whether or not your loved one came home already? I'm curious because my husband is going through this process now. Thanks!

That's great news!! My husband filled out his application, yesterday. There's just one thing we need clarified. Can you tell me who needs to write the Justification Letter that is to be submitted with the application? Does he need to write it or do I?

After the 916 call took about one month for the PO to call and do a home inspection.

Default Questions about ACP Program

Hi! Does anyone have experience with the ACP program? For example, they told me this application doesn’t even get reviewed until inmate has been mainlined. So can you share your timeline of your experience? Also, have any of your loved one get denied? Thanks in advance! Weeebly

If anyone is having trouble finding the men's program it's called MCRP. Google that to find it.

MCRP and ACP are different programs, male inmates can be eligible for both.

Oh, well I can't find information for men with the ACP. It only talks about women. Is there a link you could share where I can find info? MCRP is limited to only a few counties.

In CDCR Title 15 (page 66, starting with Article 6.8/3078) they describe the program and the information has been updated in 2016 so it no longer mentions females only.

3078.2. Alternative Custody Program Eligibility Criteria.
(a) To be eligible to participate in the Alternative Custody Pro- gram (ACP), the inmate must volunteer.
(b) The inmate shall have no more than 12 months and no less than 45 days left to serve at the time of placement into the ACP, and;
(c) The inmate does not meet any of the exclusionary criteria as provided for in section 3078.3.

The application process explained in Title 15: (read more on there...there's lots of details)

3078.4. Alternative Custody Program Processing.
(a) Screening and Assessment.
(1) Every inmate shall be afforded the opportunity to sign and submit to their assigned Correctional Counselor a CDCR Form 2234 (03/16), Alternative Custody Program (ACP) Application and Voluntary Agreement, which is incorporated by reference.
(2) Upon receipt of a CDCR Form 2234, the Secretary or his or her designee shall respond to the applicant within two weeks to inform the offender that the Form 2234 was received and to notify the inmate of the eligibility criteria of ACP.

Also I found THIS article in San Quentin News from July, where they talk about ACP
