I'm not sure how the bed space is separated in minimum vs. medium vs. maximum at Coffee Creek. Wish I had more answers for you.

I'm not certain about inmates, but most likely at least one of the guards will be male. Likewise at Coffee Creek, many of the guards will be male. I'd caution you against trying to make small talk or friends with anyone, male or female, whether inmate or guard, while in transport.

If you have an anxiety issue around being transported with male inmates then I guess that's something to find a way to cope with. Otherwise, it's a 30 minute trip...you won't have a lot of time to schmooze.

Less than 24 hours. They want to get you in a cell as quickly as the bureaucracy allows.

Your inmate number is actually a state identification number - anyone who works for the state also has this number. It is randomly assigned and no one has any say in what number is chosen for them. I believe that number is your number for the rest of your life, so if you go back after this trip, you would have the same SID.

Initially, the prison figures out where to put you based on age, health and bedspace.

Given that your sentence will be fairly short, it's unlikely that you will be able to choose a cellie. The people I know of who managed to get celled up with someone they wanted to be a cellie with took 3 years or longer to get that to happen.

That said, it's in everyone's best interest (guards and inmates alike) to not have two people confined to a cell who are antagonistic towards one another. You can ask for a different cellmate if you have grounds to believe that you are in danger, but they won't necessarily give you a cellie who you want, just one who won't be as much of a problem.

mug shots are for your arrest. you will have a photo ID and yes it will be in your uniform.

The photograph for your ID is most a face picture, very little of your body will be seen (neck and maybe a little tiny bit of the neck of your tee shirt).

When someone goes to jail for the purposes of staying there a while, a 'mug shot' is taken upon arrest, as miamac said. I'm not sure if they'd bother taking your picture for a "transfer" stay, like yours, where you go from the court room and only stay in county jail long enough to transfer to CC intake.

When you arrive, the first thing that will happen is they will give you that week's clothing and you will change clothes, then you will need to carry your clothing/linens to the cell they assign you to. A guard will escort you to your cell. That's when you'll find out if you have a cellie or if you're in a cell alone.

It is the first thing that happens. Sometime after that, but soon after you arrive, you will be required to attend a short class where you will learn how everything works inside.

Getting you into your cell is their first priority, so getting you into your jeans & tee will happen fairly quickly after you arrive. You won't be allowed out of the room in receiving and departures (R&D) until you're in the state's uniform. The jeans are blue jeans. The tee shirts are pretty standard tee shirts.

I've never heard anyone complain that they were uncomfortable. The only complaints is that they tend not to be in good repair, so they can be a little shabby/worn.

You arrive at receiving and departures (R&D). If they don't put you in a cell, the only place they have to keep you is in the R&D room. The prison doesn't want people sitting around in such a low security environment, so they want to get you in a cell quickly.

Most likely yes. Although they are segregated into different parts of the bus.

I don't believe so - she had said late June, and these things often get pushed out, so I'm guessing that she'll be in intake by August 1.

She asked soooooo many things. She should not worry too much. You cannot do anything about it anyway.
