Waiting is tough. I think it's harder than the middle ground of "lots to go". We're just waiting on a parole hearing date, not even a release date, and it's wearing us out. All the mental treadmill stuff that comes along with it. Hang in there, hopefully not too much longer.

Thanks, I know a little bit about what that wait is like. We went through a few months of waiting for the vote.

Awesome! So glad to hear she finally has a date to come home. Can’t wait for the “coming home” story!

We are down to less than 72 hours now until A comes home. The kids have not been told just incase something happens, and she wants to surprise them anyway. Their little worlds are going to be on cloud 9. They have not seen their mom in 7 weeks because Children's Center was cancelled last month due to Irma. About halfway through the summer they just reached the point where they couldn't do normal visitation anymore. It's been 41 months, and kids went through over 6 months without seeing their mom when things started. They have both been through too many hard things, but there is a lot of love and joy coming.

So I just wanted to check in. It's been 4 days since my best friend walked out the gates, and kids have been glued to her since they got home from school Wednesday. it's a very happy time. The kids know about me through their mom, uncle, and grandmother, but they have not yet met me. That will happen, but we are taking things slow, there is no rush. I'm staying in touch with her and soon enough we will have time together again. A lot of joy is flowing between us.

I wish the best for everyone here. I'm very grateful for advice given in so many posts and for the messages sent. There were so many days that I had no other place write, I just want to say thank you.

She and her family must be on cloud 9! You're more patient than I think I'd be under the circumstances. Please keep posting so we'll know how everything's going.

Well I havnt posted in a long while. I too know what it's like to wait. It's going on 3 years now come January it don't bother me most of the time too bad. I do have my moments but usually I just take them moments and talk with her mom and dad and kids It seems like that helps. We still don't know when she will be released but we are figuring by the time she gets all of her educational credit and they turn her loose 6 months early for manditory re-entry supervision She will serve out mid 2018. Not much longer. we have had some ups and downs but we are hanging in there stronger than ever. Me and her family are just getting closer and closer too. She has been in SEG for last two weeks for punching a girl. That kinda sucks but to be honest it's nice to get all the letters. She is definitely a little redneck this is not the first time she's sent me the writeup for fighting. So I've grown used to losing calls for a few weeks at a time I'm just glad they give her the one call to let me know when they do lock her down. I'm just starting to build our house and I hope to have it completed by the time she gets out. She may end up helping me do the inside but we will have a home to live in anyways.

Ah, the art of the punch. One time a girl got my address and decided to write me thinking I was a target for money. Forwarded it right back to Dee with a "who the heck is this?" I heard she messed the other girl up pretty bad. And nobody tried to "pull me" after that....LOL! They didn't even Seg her for that one, just put her on room confinement for a week.

Not much longer to go. Keep us posted.

I guess Tammy (and I) have been lucky. Her time inside has been pretty free of drama.

Well the issue was this....I always made sure Dee was well-taken care off. She didn't need to have a hustle. So a lot of women assumed I was a "trick" to be pulled. This one somehow got my address (PO Box) off an envelope.

I guess Tammy's hustle has been helping people without attaching any strings.

Thanks. So do I. I worried a lot for the first few years. I kept dreading the other shoe would drop, thinking something bad would happen to her. The first shoe was her conviction and confinement. That was bad enough. I'm thankful things aren't worse than they are.

Default So men, how're we doing this week? (Chit Chat OK)

Just a quick update. My best friend, AM, is doing really well. In less than a week out she has her driver license back, a cell phone, and has two full time jobs offers. First job starts Monday! The kids are going great.

AM had her fair share of drama. Most of the drama I know about happened when she was in dorm that was intended for low security inmates. Things seemed better on the drama front in the close/medium security dorm two person cells, except for a short time with a bad bunkie. AM kept to herself as much as she could. The drama with staff she just had to deal with.
