Saturday will be the mark of my first year without a drink
It's been hard folks....really REALLY hard but I'm almost there.
After that I think it will be like a cake walk for me then I get to start mending fences and moving on in my steps. And maybne even quit be a bitch so much. Maybe for listening to me cry and whine for nearly a year.

Mary, Congratulations on your one year anniversary. I agree with Patchouli, I like your posts and get a lot of help out of them. I am fairly new here so did not see the ones when you weren't sober !! We all have different opinions and ideas and that's what makes this site great.

Nothing like a one-year coin, lady! Congratulations!!!!!

Now buckle down and aim for two! You know perfectly well you're not going to coast through. Steps hurt, amends hurt (and mend). You are funny, smart, experienced and are going to make it!

congrats on your accomplishment! the cliche of one day at a time i guess rings true? i'd been clean off meth since nov 2010. i had to quit pot dec 2011 ( in fixing to gear up for a legal battle terminating the guardianship my ex's mom had on my girls/victorious in feb 2013) been clean ever since. some days indeed tough, i can't drink ( due to hep c issues) and i don't dare take a puff off a doob (knowing how vindictive ex and his mom are/ could be subject to random UA or hair at any given moment-meth is not even in the picture, so over it, wasted too many years on that crap) even tried to quit smoking tobacco cigarettes and been doing good w/ the e vape cig up until few weeks ago( smoking regular tobacco again...sigh) anyhow i am proud for the strides you made bumblebee congrats again and god bless

Thanks eeveryone I'm feeling pretty good about myself and the situation right now. The temptation is getting less & less everyday. Making amends isn't easy but you know sometimes people just can't find forgiveness until maybe you earn their trust back. I think the saddest part is my fiance waited a long time for me to get to this point and I'll be giving back my engagement ring when he arrives to celebrate my sobriety. I think I'm better alone without expectations. Just wanted to share that because a few knew hes been waiting on me.
Anywho, thanks for not thinking I'm a bitch. I know i still have moments of angry outburst but I'm working on that too.

Hahaha, that gave me a little chuckle. Thank you everyone. I'm trying to figure out how to show you my 'one day at a time' stone..I nearly rubbed the writing off it from rubbing it when I wanted to give up. I want to send it to someone here on PTO who is struggling because ladies and gentlemen I'm never going back to my addiction.
For my son

Default Everyone is relapsing in my group...shit

I am just coming to vent after coming from my nightly meeting. It seems the strongest in the group are falling and it scares the hell out of me. It has me cursing like I haven't in awhile so forgive me.
I am strong enough in my recovery I understand that a person can only work their own program but what the hell???

BB , That sucks ,but I'm pretty sure from your posts here that you will be an inspiration to your fellow AA members . I think your staying strong and sober is the guidance and encouragement that just might help them to turn it around again!

I am struggling to I have good days but then there come the days when I find myself getting bitchy and taking it out on my boyfriend and we are still in the adjusting period to each other so it's the wrong thing for me to do. I decided August 5 my birthday to quit drinking and have been doing good with it.

I appreciate you telling me that LifeTraveler because it snapped me back into the real world. Thank you.
Countrygirl, you're doing excellent if you've been sober since 8/5. Congrats! Always remember you may not be able to control people, places or things but YOU are in control of your alcoholism. This world can chew you up and spit you out but it's your CHOICE to give in or stand. And believe me I know how hard it is to stand.

Im only on day one. Trying to stay sober cuz I am on probation. Guy I work with has been sober for 16 years and says it is still hard and he thinks about it all the time. Hopefully everyone is different because thats a long time out to still be struggling.

I got my 2 year chip May 23rd...still hanging in there. Joe's passing is coming up July4th so I'll be standing on that clif where I let his ashes fly free to watch the coast of California explode in fireworks. America will be celebrating and so will I, my boy is free. Mary

Mary, there aren't enough words in the English language to express how proud I am of you

...and when you're standing on that cliff, close your eyes and just breathe. When you feel the breeze surround you, it'll be Joe letting you that its ok. That you're gonna be ok.
