Arrow On the Outside - Prison Documentary for MS, CA, FL, WI, MI, GA

Greetings Jonathan,

Please pass this brief synopsis on to other C.U.R.E members and other groups that would be of intrest. More information is available upon request.

ABOUT DOGLA PRODUCTIONS

Led by multiple Emmy-Award winning producer Sam Pollard, Dogla is an innovative collective of New York based producers with over fifty years of combined film experience. Our goal is to use our combined talents to create critical alternative media that is both informative and entertaining.

SYNOPSIS

On the Outside focuses on the lives of four convicts during the "re-entry" period—the critical first months following their release from prison. Will they inevitably return to a life of crime? How can they get support while reintegrating back into society? What factors enable one person to succeed where so many others fail?

We will follow our participants from within the penitentiary system to the streets and civic life for one year. Each day's triumphs and difficulties will reveal immeasurable detail, creating a compelling portrait of the lives ex-offenders lead and the personal and external obstacles they face in becoming productive members of society.

REQUEST

We seek prisoners (participants) whose release date is in November or December 2005, to work with us to document their transition from out of prison.

By utilizing the medium of film as a catalyst for social change, we will illuminate the larger problems of a faltering justice system and gel the collective consciousness of society in an unequaled manner. We seek your assistance in identifying potential national participants and their families as well as national organizations that facilitate "re-entry" for prisoners . The states that we are most interested in your assistance are California , Florida, Mississippi , Wisconsin, Michigan, and Georgia.

It is important that these inmates are "willing" participants and they are interested in having their story told. We would like to conduct an initial phone interview with the inmates this month or begin written correspondence as soon as possible.

If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact our office at the number listed above or e-mail us at doglaproductions@gmail.com.

Thank you in advance for your time. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,

Christalyn Wright

Advisory for PTO Members Regarding Requests from Journalists or Members of the Media:

PTO welcomes journalists and/or members of the media to learn and educate themselves about prisons, prisoners, and their loved ones.

We will, occasionally, allow the media to request information and personal stories from our members. However, PTO does not endorse any journalist, member of the media, story/report, or media outlet.

If you decide to communicate with a media representative, then you assume all of the risks involved. PTO is in no way liable for the outcome of the story/report. Communication with members of the media is completely voluntarily and PTO holds no responsibility for the consequences of that communication.

PTO does not screen or authenticate any person(s) claiming to be from the media, nor does PTO authenticate their motivations for obtaining the information.

As always, the disclosure of personal information (either yours or someone that is incarcerated) may have some serious repercussions. PTO has no way of predicting how the media will present your story or that of your loved one. Any relationship with the media is to be entered into at your own risk.

If you receive an unsolicited email or private message from a person claiming to be from the media, report it to the PTO Administration immediately.
