On the Massachusetts link it says to apply at least 30 days before the planned date. I take that as being it could happen as quickly as 30 days, but I advise that you dont set the date until after the paperwork has been completed. As far as other wedding stories I dont have any aws of yet. This is a brand new thread and I will be looking for others who have been married in a MA prison to tell there stories here. As soon as I have more information for you then I will let you know. I'm checking into your county jail and will let you know what turns up with that as well

Hi everyone. Is it true you can not get married in County Jails (Plymouth)? I know we may have to get married behind glass and maybe no wedding ring is allowed for him, but I hope somebody out there has some info. Thanks!

Are you on his visitor's list? I know the laws can vary from state to state, even prison to prison. I did it, but I live in MA. Has he submitted an inquiry to his case worker? It usually all starts there. Keep us posted.

Thank you so much.

We got the paper work started. And we are in the middle of setting a date, either August 7th, or August 8th, 2008

My boyfriend and I are currently waiting to take his case to trial, The DA isnt trying to go under 10 mando. we've been together for 5 yrs. and have been thru our share of bids So i'm fully commited to waiting the 10 yrds. so we're going to get married, now I've heard that in mass prisons you can do artificial insemination. Is that true at all??

I would really appreciate the help with these questions!! You only have 16 days left too! you must be so excited!! I can't wait for that day to come!! Congrats!! Enjoy!!!

That is absolutely correct. I've already done that in MA and it's not hard to do.

he has to get a packet. You have to fill out the papers, write a letter to the Super, and then follow what the hacility says you have to do.

My boyfriends in Gardner and already sent me the "paperwork" neccesary to get married. I opened the letter and it was 3 "visiting" forms. One for me one for my witness and one for the justice of the peace? Is it me or does it seem like there should me more to it then that?
