You may try to call the unit chaplain. He may do this for you. No guarantees though.

Good luck and congrats on the new baby.

Hi, When I had my daughter, my fiance's sister called the prison and talked to the warden, and he gave Mike the message. You should call to the unit and ask to talk to the warden. If he's nice (or having a good day) he might be able to at least give him the message. It's really up to the warden.

Mike was already going crazy because he knew that I was scheduled to be induced on that day...and about that time he was also given his phone call...so he got to call his sister's house the next day... I was in the hospital so I didn't get to talk to him.

Okay....i hope I helped.

Try the chaplain. Most of the chaplains seem very sincere in their assisting the inmates with family matters. You may want to call now and verify with the chaplain what you would be allowed to do.

And, no, TDC will not forward any mail if they move the inmate.

Actually all mail should follow them to the new unit. It just may take a good length of time. Oh and of course some could mysteriously get lost.

Way back when (6 years ago) when my hubby moved, my letters came back. She said hers had been returned from Garza as return to sender. Paula, did you have any problems while he was at Garza and do you have the correct TDC # on them? Mine were returned when I used his old TDC number.

Well maybe the laws have changed for the better. My husband started out at the Garza's last year and I never had a problem with it. Hmmmm.. things that make you go huh.

As a last resort the major of a prison can do this too.A major is the head dude of the COs under the wardens. If a unit is like colfield each side has a major cus the place is so big so get the right major.Chaplains are the best though thats their territory...........in tejas

When my boyfriend was moved (5 months ago) all of my letters were returned to me. I had to re send them to his new prison- what a waste of stamps! I don't know why they don't just forward them!

You can usually call the counselor and the will get the message or at least tell them to calll home...but it just depends on the different prisons and if you get a cool person that answers the phone.
