Thumbs down Have You Ever Heard Of An Inmate Getting Too Many Letters?

Hi.

Given that some pen-pal sites don't indicate how long an inmate has been looking for someone to communicate with, do you think it's possible for an inmate to get so many letters that they turn someone down? With that in mind, have you ever asked an inmate about how many letters they're getting? As crazy as it might sound and the not-so-great chance an inmate would tell you, my thinking is that if someone is known to be getting a good number of letters and doesn't really need anymore, it could present an opportunity for another inmate to be written to.

Thank you.

I’ve never asked but they’d probably tell you. I’ve never had one turn me down before, but I tend to pick those who specifically indicate they aren’t getting any mail.

I think if an inmate is getting a ton of mail... and high profile inmates or guys who are featured on television get staggering amounts of mail... you’d be more likely to just not receive a response at all.

You might be right about an inmate being willing to say whether or not they're getting a lot of letters. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask in a nice way. And I'm sure the high profile ones do get a lot, though that's not where my focus is.

Thank you.

If you are waiting for a response from someone keep in mind that not only we select who we want to write, they do as well. To us 0.45 cts isn't a lot for them it is 1 soup.
That said he might lack the funds to write back at the moment.
I once waited 7 weeks for a first response.
