Question upcoming parole hearing

My fiance has been elligible for parole since September but is just now going before the board on the 14th of this month.
He expires in June anyway (May if he gets his GED) so we are unsure if it is even worth it for him to take parole now.
Some people have tried to tell us that he would have to be on parole for a minimum of 366 days no matter what, while others have told us that he would be on parole only as long as he would be in prison (his expiration date plus 6 days a month) which would put him at about July or August. I called the parole board and unless the guy misunderstood my question, he told me that the 366 days was wrong.
Does anyone know?

Also, since his expiration date is so soon and his elligibility date has long since passed, does anyone have a clue as to how long it would take them to get him on the street? I know they normally do a hearing in Nevada about 4 months prior to release but in this case, I should hope that it won't take more than a month.

Is it even worth it for him to take parole at all? The only real reason we are considering it is because we have 7 month old twins that have only met him once and I am struggling here.

I am sorry that I did not get to this sooner. I am not sure about your state but I know that most states you are only on parole for as long as your sentence was to begin with. I would think that it would be worth it to take the parole if it is offered to him. I am sure that you hace aleady decided since his parole hearing was 2 weeks ago. I am anxious to know what you have decided and if you have heard anything back yet. Good luck.

Question update

I have a new question and update for anyone who can help. Chanse saw the board. He said there were 2 ladies there from the board and one was supportive of him going on parole and the other said he "didn't do good on paper" since part of the reason he's there is because his probation was revoked. It is his understanding that the final decision is up to 4 people and at least 3 of them have to say yes.
He decided that he does want parole. The Nevada Dept. of Corrections website says you can call when the hearing agenda has been completed so I called on the 3rd of this month but the guy at the parole board said I couldn't find out until the 14th (one month from his hearing), which is this friday. So we have been waiting impatiently for this day to come.
My big question is, does the parole officers come to the house before or after they tell him the decision????????
It seems to us from our observations that the officers would come to the house before. Otherwise, why tell them yes, and then not approve their home and tell them no again?
It also seems like he should be home within a week or two of hearing their decision, at least that is what he sees happening around there.
We called the parole and probation office here today and they said if the board approves then they are sent a packet on the person and then they do a home visit to see if they approve. The reason we are wondering is because it's so close and I haven't seen or heard from anyone from parole.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

I would bet the visit comes after, because why do the visit if he isn't approved? They don't do any work unless they have to at probation/parole departments.....Good luck! Positive thoughts being sent your way...

Well, first of all, thank you all for your support and help. But it turns out that all my worrying was in vain. He was denied today.

So sorry to hear that, Sara. I/we are awaiting parole hearing here that was supposed to have been in February, but due to the board being so behind in that state probably won't be until closer to the end of the year if even this year at all. If he is denied again he will likely have to serve out the rest of his sentence (seven more years) so that, of course, is my biggest fear of all. He's been denied three times in the past, so my heart is with you.... many good thoughts and best wishes and hopes for the future for you two.

Lys
