Default Parole Hearing Yesterday

My fiancee had his second parole hearing yesterday. His first was in April and was denied because he still had a program to finish.
This time all programs were completed, there were no misconducts, and he served 14 months on a 60 day to 3 year sentence.
At the end of his parole hearing yesterday, the parole board member said that he had his vote and he'd be going home.

Are they allowed to say these things? Can I take this as definite? My fiancee said that he's said the same thing to 3 guys he knows and they all were home in 4-6 weeks. I don't want to get my hopes up, but hope is all I have!

Actually, they're not allowed to indicate their vote nor make promises on how the final decision will look. Too many guys walk out of their hearing after hearing positive comments and then wind up with a hit (often with staff as witnesses.)

What matters is the overall picture. He has a positive conduct record and has successfully completed all programs. If he had the institution's recommendation for parole and presented a reasonable plan for his re-entry, then the odds are in his favor.

Thank you! Everything is looking good. His parole hearing was last Wednesday. A Parole agent called me on Monday and he came out Tuesday to check the home plan. He told me that everything looked good and he had already contacted my landlord who gave the OK. Just waiting on the green sheet and his drug screen and we'll be OK!!

We got his green sheet on 11/2. He was approved for parole! He gave a urine on 11/6. Just waiting for it to come back so he can get a release date and sign out. This has been the longest 15 months of my life!! But happy we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
