Welcome to Prison Talk. Since you have already been approved to visit, I doubt if they do any followup background checks. I would be concerned if a warrant for your arrest has been issued. If not, all the bop can do is deny your visit, versus arresting you on the outstanding warrant.

It's a gamble. If you have a warrant (hopefully you are taking care of your court issues and do not) I've seen people arrested when they show up for visit. If you don't and the charges against you stick, it's only a matter of time before BOP runs checks again and your visitation is revoked. In that case I would be worried about them not letting you re-apply when you are off paper.

I'm dealing with the charges now with going to court so there is no warrant

I'm trying to look that up, I'm really not sure how often they check after initial approval as it's been many years since I was visiting the feds. They may not check, but it is a gamble.

They don't recheck after you are approved. If he gets moved though, they will do another check because you have to submit a new form every place they go

It is possible for an existing visitor's list to be imported by the new counselor after a prison transfer, but some of them do require a new visitor's application, but most don't.
