Default BF's Stomach Issues

I am so worried. My BF did a 10 yr bid from age 19 to 29. He got out and we began dating/living together shortly after. During that time he would throw up liquid/yellowish thin fluid almost every morning and then be OK the rest of the day. I figured it was due to him not having real food the last 10 years. It got a little better but then he was arrested in Sept 2010 and back to prison for a 2 yr bid...and back to crappy food..we're almost 4 mths away from his release in December 2012 (yay).... He recently wrote me and said he feels two hard knots on his stomach and he went to the dr and they are going to run some tests. I wondered if it was a hernia. He says its not and now im worried it could be stomach cancer. So scared... we're not married so when he gets home its not like I can add him to my insurance.. Anyone else had loved ones with stomach issues like this from being in prison?

There are many things that can cause such symptoms. He should see the prison doctor again for the results of the "tests". Did they do anything like a barium swallow test, ultrasound? CT scan? or just blood work?

Try not to worry until you get a diagnosis.

He can and should put in a written request for a copy of his medical records. They cannot deny him that. He will need that information once released in December.
Once he gets the information, he can mail it home to you. They cannot stop him from doing that either. This is how you will get information. It will be slow as can be, but eventually he will receive the results. If he does not ask for them in writing, they will one day tell him something very vague like, "nothing much showed up" and what exactly does that mean?

Talk about slow, I requested my medical records 6 months before I was released to the HWH, but had to write a letter to the warden after I was out to finally get them.

The concerns of the inmates have very little to do with the actions of many bop staff members. I also followed up on my request a number of times while I was still at the prison, but kept being put off (aka ignored).
