Default April and May's numbers

I'll admit I'm no forensic CPA and truthfully I'm only good at balancing my checkbook and working the numbers on a good sale, but these numbers don't make sense to me.

April's numbers

As of January 1, 2015, Defendants expanded 2-for-1 credit earnings for all inmates designated Minimum Custody A or B pursuant to California Code of Regulations Title 15 Section 3377.1 who are currently eligible to earn day-for-day (50%) credits. These credits are being applied prospectively to the 3,745 inmates who are currently eligible under this program. Since January 1, 2015, 9,100 total inmates have been released receiving expanded 2-for-1 earnings.

May's numbers

As of January 1, 2015, Defendants expanded 2-for-1 credit earnings for all inmates designated Minimum Custody A or B pursuant to California Code of Regulations Title 15 Section 3377.1 who are currently eligible to earn day-for-day (50%) credits. These credits are being applied prospectively to the 3,275 inmates who are currently eligible under this program. Since January 1, 2015, 9,193 total inmates have been released receiving expanded 2-for-1 earnings.

If this were my checkbook - I could account for 93 dollars but I sure in the heck would be baffled about the other 377 dollars.

According to their numbers 93 inmates we released in April under 2 for 1. I'm guessing 377 inmates either lost their privilege or were released under the guise of something else. Their numbers dropped substantially from 3,745 in April to 3,275 in May.

My math also shows 377 unaccounted for. We will never get an explanation either. Im hoping the Prison Law office is doing these same calculations!! Good for the 93 right!!

I don't think they know what their numbers are or they are fudging them hoping nobody will catch on. The feds need to step in all the way already.

Remember new commits are receiving the 2 for 1 credit, though it doesn't mean they have been released yet. Same thing with other eligible inmates. It doesn't go back just forward. So if you still had 9 years left as of Jan 2015 at half-time and you were minimum custody then you would still have 3 years to serve and would count towards applied though not released. Additionally, there are thousands of commits a month so the 3,275 in May probably was just new commits. Though if you look at the population sheet you can see how they keep some prisons with a high population and then have others (forced by the feds to stop accepting inmates) with a lot of empty beds and they count towards population counts.
