Of course this sucks, but we will make it through I'm sure

Thank you for all your hard work. It's obvious that you take this very seriously, and I really appreciate that.

In the meantime, I'm off to locate all my friends I've lost. lol (kinda).

David, thank you SO MUCH for all you are and all you do. My only regret is the deletion of my Angels thread where I said JUST THAT!!!! PTO is everything to me, this is a minor glitch.

Default Wow

Even though i have been a member since 2003..i just started posting (it took me a long time to get up my courage!!! call me a late bloomer ) and set up my profile after July 15th...so i spent some time today to find my avator..and signature picture..because i had not saved it..it took a while but as you can see i found it ....i wished i had printed out a couple of my posts..because it was like therapy for me writing and then reading it...but it's all good

David please don't stress over this matter...try and relax...and if you can't get the data back...oh well....we will be just fine..right Ladies and Gentlemen?
Thank you for all your hard work..i appreciate you

David, I am offended. SERIOUSLY offended.

You can manage to taker the forum database back to July of this year, but not us? You left us out of the time-space continuum?

Listen, the NEXT TIME you do this, I ask that you kindly transport me BACK to the 1850's, ok? 7/15/1851 is good for me!

Thank you David and everyone that is working on this... I always try to see the lesson, and think of all the members including me that have been reminded to back up. It is not over yet, there are many who are sending their prayers that it will all work out!

So, yes, you can definitely say modifying the procedure is going to take place for sure so as to have more complete and separate backups beyond the incremental ones.

It's all good.

We are still here.

Going out on a limb here, but methinks you might have been nuked. Have not looked at all the other replies, but please note that the ex-con voy.com site was hit at the same time - will update on the exact date/time they were wiped once I check em again.

If hardcoded crazy high buffers are not in place, any site can be nuked.

Someone is trying the same thing on badgewars.com (Suffolk County House in particular) as we speak. Just straight spamming long ass articles on the forums.

brb.

According to my calculations, I lost 514 profile page visits, statistically! I was hoping for the 3000 mark! I had 2750 on Friday! And I had a bunch of visitor messages that I was meaning to reply to, but didn't, because I had to work.
Sorry to you folks. Thanks anyway.
Oh! And I also lost a couple of hundred thanks, too.
Bummer!

To all those speculating: What happened on PTO yesterday is not due to the influence of any external party or conspiricy. What has happened was an internal PTO issue, unrelated to any other website, and was a combination of many factors all happening in the worse possible time leading to this situation.

If we're sending people back in time, could I be next? I don't ask for much, just take me back to yesterday morning, so I can be any place other than where I was when I broke my writing arm...

While in no way as GRAND as this loss, the other day, I experienced TWO computer snafus that caused me to lose information I'd spent a great deal of time typing.

The first one happened when I was creating the slideshow of my dog to show to the folks in the PTO PET FORUM (which, coincidentally, is gone now...due to the PTO crash)...but I digress...when I finished the slideshow, the wesite I was using asked me to sign in...and when I did, somehow, it erased my whole slideshow. I was nearly in tears. I count my spent time valuable...and to do it over...PHEW! Talk about MAD! Seemed like I'd wasted some valuable time I could never get back, but I got over it and redid it.

The second time, I'd responded to someone's blog on MySpace. Evidentally, it was too good (LOL) because Internet Explorer decided it had had enough and needed to purge and restart. WTF??? While I have gone back and redone the slideshow of my dog...I have yet to go back and redo that MySpace Blog Reply. I'm just so devastated. Fool me once and make me work twice as long to accomplish my goal, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me! I keep trying to go back and enter a reply, but I am gunshy now. EGADS!

I said all that to say that while I am glad my experiences (on this newer computer at least) haven't been as big-scale or catastrophic as this...I feel a portion of your pain when i get little glitches.

You all are doing a good job. It's going to be hard to recover from (more so emotionally, than technically), so I pray there is a "computer miracle" performed and we can get it all back.

HAPPY SUNDAY, PTO FAMILY!

As all things come in 3, and you already had your 2 recent bad experiences lately, we wil just blame the PTO problem on you. You have your 3 bad expericences, so you don't need to wait for any more, and we have a scapegoat. Deal?
