Oh, i hope I did not offend David. I did not mean to at all. I totally understand ( our computers crash and loose data at work often) I just wanted to know if we should re-post or wait. I decided to repost just in case we have some new members that joined today and needed some info. Again, i am sure once (if) things get back on track, the moderators will delete the new threads and posts that were started.

And yes, as Nimuay said

David - first off, know that I am paranoid to the nth degree, so I have to ask...was this a result of hacking?

Many of us post things, particularly in private forums that I wouldn't want other people having access to.

Please, just assure me I am being paranoid.

Thanks for all you do, David!

Awwww...this sux...not so much for me, but for you David. I know you must be extremely frustrated (understatement of the century, I'm sure) at this occuring. We all know how much work you and all the Admins, etc put into this site, and it is greatly appreciated...at least from my perspective, and I'm sure others as well. Just take from this problem and learn from it for future reference, and don't be too hard on yourself.

Thanks for giving us a head's up on the situation and as they say "stuff happens"........ move on and start from here and it sounds like PTO has learned from their mistakes and that's all they can do......
I'm just glad we're back online.........

I kinda have a problem with just starting from here not about posts or anything but our friends list is messed up too. And I figured I'd just send a new request right but you can't do that.

With all the serious issues we face in our day to day lives - I am not going to let this computer issue bother me at all. I feel really bad for David and all the techs involved, but hey, this is nothing compared to what got us all here in the first place. Minor inconvience to us. Ain't nothing but a thing.

This had nothing at all to do with PTO being hacked.

"Your just being paranoid", but I completely understand why. The first thing I thought was that might have been a possibility but we confirmed that it was not and PTO is secure.

I'm grateful that you were able to retrieve and restore as much as you did. I know databases can be tricky. I know it's all painful for you, Fed-X, but like Sozeee said, it's so minimal in the context of everything else in the world. You have no idea how positively you impact hundreds, if not thousands, of people on a daily basis by providing this site. We truly appreciate that!! This is just one little hiccup, all things considered.

Computer crashes happen. If the data's lost, we'll live with it.

What this really tells us is that PTO is such an amazing site that it has a huge part in an amazing number of people's lives. Thank you for that.

i am feeling a lot better about this whole thing. i will admit when i wrote my first post i was feeling a little down about the situation...but its all good. everyone at PTO has helped me so much in the past few weeks that i have been a member, and words cant even describe how thankful i am for everything. i dont even want to think about where i would be if PTO wasnt here to give me support...so we can get past this little bump. we have all gotten through a lot together and we can get past this too! David and all the other administrators here are wonderful and i want to say thank you for all your hard work!

Can I toss in a bit of info for those not so computer savvy - This also means if your profile was here previous to July 15th, and/or survived the loss but you had made changes after that, your changes are probably gone. I am glad I am a bit computer savvy because my passwork was reverted back to the one before I changed it just a couple weeks ago but I knew to try it before I got locked out. Maybe another little note could be added to the signon screen letting people know to try an old password just incase they had changed it? Anyway sorry this happened and I hope you are able to recover as much as possible. I have seen it done with small systems but this is a big system and alot of info to try to recover. At least it is only a month worth huh.

Thanks so much for the info and for this site. Wish I could do more to help.

David,
To you and all you do this for you .
Poor guy, that itty bitty bit of data, is just an itty bitty thing.
All the work that you and others do to keep this ship afloat, now that's HUGE.
Pretty clever, they way you reminded us all of that

I'm just glad that PTO is back on site. The information that was lost can be replaced by other information in time. We all can start over atleast from July 15th on. I just don't want David to have a stress attack because of the information that was lost. We can move on from here if it doesn't work to save the data.

Thank you David for all that you do to make sure that we all have support from one another and to make sure that everything is working to the best ability. We all just need to be grateful that he's done as much as he's already done for us, and not worry over much about the past..some things can't be changed, and life is to short to make such a big deal about it, friendships can be renewed, and posts can be upgraded.

Autumn

Yes I do agree with everyone else!!! Thank you so much for this site in the first place. Please do not strees over the loss and we can all fix our own loss if we feel the need to repost something we had on here and make the changes we had made. Who knows, we may get new and better questions and answers that we got before. And if it is important enough to the people who have joined us within the time peroid, they will not have an issue to have to do so again.

TONS of thanks to you and all your crew for what you do!!!!
