Hi All I Wonder Does Anyone Have Any Info On A Program Called Smu At Lewisburg My Son Will Be Going There Tomorrow Does Anyone Have Any Info Of This Place At All I Hear It Really A Joke
Thanks Janice
SHU is special housing unit, they are sent there as punishment. My brother was at Lewisburg years ago, but when he was sent to an SHU eight or nine years ago he was sent to Terra Haute. I thought Lewisburg was a regular USP.
SHU (Segregated Housing Unit) is not a PLACE, per say, but a seperate section within each facility. It can be used for punishment, holding, or protection for inmates. Sometimes inmates will spend as little as a couple hours there during the course of questioning in regards to an investigation or they may spend literally months for punishment.
Keep the Faith
Michael

My brother was there for 18 month. I wonder,if each facility has a SHU why did they send him someplace else? Could it be they just wanted him out of that particular facility? Anyway, I looked up Lewisburg just now and could find nothing about smu. Lewisburg is a USP, has training programs, drug programs etc. but that is all I could find. Sorry!! And Michael, thanks for clearing that up about SHU.
The Unit That My Son Is In Is Called Specail Magement, He Was In Shu In Raybrook For 8 Months . A Fight Brook Out There , All The Belonging Of His &other Cell Mates Were Stolen Out Of Thier Cells, Well I Dont Have To Tell You Who Got The Blame, So My Kid And 3 Other Guys Stayed In The Hole All This Time. My man is in USP Lee and they are threatening him with going to Lewisburg for the SMU Program. Now he is scheduled to be transferred to his halfway house no later than March. He has already served 58 months. His release is in 13 months. THis program is supposed to be for 2 1/2 to 3 years. Would they really send him to PA for that short of a time? I do not like what I have heard so far about this place.
