My husband is at SCRI. doing 40 years. However he is in the IMU (Intensive Management Unit) housing section which is none too nice. I have a lot of issues with his placement there for a 3 year term. He is down to 2 now, but damn, when prisoners fight----there is not a victim. Yet he is being charged medical bills for this other idiot. All money that i send 50% is taken out before he even sees it. I HATE OREGON DOC......... i want to get him transferred to California so we can have closer and better visits. Ontario. OR is a 14 hour drive from where i live and 862 miles!!!!!!!!! JUST GREAT

I am going to pop in with my Forum Leader speach.... as I haven't done it in a bit!! It is meant for everyone, but if I post it after every new member.... it would lose it's effectiveness!!!

All new members will want to review PTO Policies/Rules and Information. Here is the link:
http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23755

I am also a huge supporter of Con-Tact News. Con-tact News is a bi-monthly, non-profit publication that focuses on the needs and concerns of prisoners incarcerated in county, state and federal facilities throughout the nation.

Here is the link: http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=269

Finally, there is the NW PTO Get Together (G2G) that is happening in a couple of weeks. Please see the stickey on this forum!!

Welcome to all our new members!!!

it's too bad I never see anyone from southern oregon, cause it would be cool to hook up for carpools.

tamotzz.....

It is too bad!

And I have to say that as Forum Leader, I feel a like I am letting members down, as I know next to NOTHING about the Oregon prison system! I just live in Portland, and Fellah is incarcerated in Washington.

I am willing to learn!! If you have any suggestions on how to grow the membership in Oregon..... I am all ears!! And so are the many members who come seeking answers, only to find none. Totally frustrates me.

JJT

My suggestion would be to elicit help from Ann Rose Pierce who runs the Oregon Advocacy group: After seventeen years. she is very knowledgeable and supportive about the oregon correctional system. Having her as a member and resource for this site would be a great coup!

after seventeen years was the first prison site that I ever visited! An amazing story! Spoke very close to what I am going through. You know, that same question... what makes you think he will change... after XX number of years. I may have to revisit some old stomping ground.

Thank you for the reminder.

(Forum Leader asking herself if directing to another site goes against policy, but then remembering, no one really directed to the other site. hmmmm.... must revisit policy!!)

Actually, I'd like to see Ann come on this site as an advisor for the oregon board. she could really be a great resource. I wonder if she has ever been invited? she really knows the system and goes in and out of ALL the oregon prisons.

A male friend who I cherish is at Snake River with a release date of 02/26/06. Yeah, that's THE PAL in my count-down counter.

You and I have opposite problems! I am in Seattle and know quite a bit about the Washington system and yet my hubby is in Ontario, OR.... goodness... *laughs* but, isn't that just the way it goes?

Will there be a NW meeting anytime soon??

Thanks

Default Oregon State Correctional Institution

My nephew (age 25) was moved just yesterday to OSCI. What does anyone know about it other than what facts are posted on the profile?

Have you done a Search on this forum for the prison??? Maybe something will show up that is more than the blah blah given out by the DOC.
