Default Happy St Patricks Day

A little excited for today. We are going to this celebration on the square. Music, food vendors, beer and whiskey gardens........looks to be fun.

Its free too. (well except for the cost of food, drink)
Hopefully it will be peaceful, and just a good time.
Might even take the train up there rather than drive up.
(note to self, check the sunday schedule for train)

Happy St Patricks Day!

I am going to an Irish pub later for a traditional Irish meal , stew and colcannon and then raise a non alcoholic toast to my late fiery wonderful Irish Grandma Kathleen.

Even though I've Irish blood in me veins (if ya go back far enough ), I don't do anything special on St. Paddy's Day. I did read that Lyft is providing free rides this weekend to help keep intoxicated drivers off the roads.

sw, take the train! I wish we had trains. And can ya sing Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty at least once on the train ride

maytayah, not sure what colcannon is, but the stew sounds good....and as long as your non alcoholic drink is green, who cares if there a buzz to to or not LOL

Colcannon is really good. Back home I used to go to the pub for St. Patrick's day. They made a really good shepard's pie and I'd have that and a Guinness. Usually around the weekend of they'd have a band. I haven't been out since moving here. Not sure what they do.

Two of my favs:

Had a blast.

We missed the train, so hubby drove up.
Met my sista up there and her hubby.
My youngest came up too.
It was great. BEAUTIFUL day.

I would try that. Looks good.

My corned beef turned out pretty good. I like it a bit more.....shreddy. This one was more like a slab when cut. Even after redoing it the next day because hub finished making it and forgot the cabbage! (wth?)
So I had to cut more veggies, and taters. Plus the cabbage. It was good the second night too.

We sure did have fun at that deal. Very mellow. Lots of kids, people, dogs (we didnt bring ours and maybe should have)
Got to see one of my former customers too. She is part of the guide dogs program and fosters (?) a breeder guide dog who was there too. Got to say hi to him too.
Big yellow lab with such a mellow temperment. Huge head. He's gorgeous, so I can see why they use him as a sire for pups.
